SCREENpresso!! Worked for me too - can’t believe I missed closing it before… Thanks!!
Glad it did help
But really, what do they do or check, that a tool like Screenpresso can cause a crash. Makes no sense at all, but okay.
It honestly looks like it’s different software for different builds. For me the first thing I did was close and stop my Corsair iCue items and services. Still crashed. Then I reversed my overclock on my CPU. Still crashed. Then I stopped (no uninstall) my GameFirst VI. Then I was able to game again. After testing, I found that all I had to stop was GameFirst VI to play. So I uninstalled it. Been playing ever since. Even re-overclocked my CPU and restarted my iCue. If something changes, I’ll post it.
It’s going to vary for everyone but it seems to be additional software that typically runs in the background. HWinfo, MSI afterburner, Screenpresso, Voicemod, Aquasuite, etc. If you have anything like these would start from there.
Are they working on implementing an anti-cheat system? Nobody really knows but this sure feels like it. Or they effed up major lmao
If you go into My Documents > Modern Warfare > Report > Crash Dump > dx diag then scroll to the bottom it lists everything causing your crash. For me it’s my Alienware control center
Thanks, man.
Same as you, I’ve been trying to make things work for about a week.
I have uninstall and reinstall battle net and COD twice already, uninstalled MSI afterburner, hwinfo. I even tried to install voicemod then reinstall it haha.
But when you said to turn off Screenspresso, I got excited, there’s still hope. And I was able to play yesterday for 2 hrs with no crashing.
As mentioned by others, it could be different for everyone, so I’ll try to install some of the things I uninstall and just turn off Screenpresso whenever I play.
Well today’s update made it worse, I was able to play flawlessly in full screen mode Monday but as of tonight I cannot play more than 3 minutes in any game mode, any display setting or any gpu driver. This is broken how do we get them to fix this?
I closed every Razer thing I see in Task Manager, and I have been playing 2 days without a crash
I have tried to use all these methods non worked. Some helped by making it take a minute longer, but not forever. Raven plz fix this issue it started a week back when season five came out so please make a update to fix it.
Well, my isse before have been solved by closing down Voicemod thru Task Manager.(for this while so far,no problem for 3 days and counting). Even the game have been updated to season 5 with new build series, if I dont close voicemod, the crash will prompt but with the new build number that have been updated for season 5. Anybody same with me?
Im downgrade to previous drivers of Nvdia in version 471.41 and works!!!
Al last.
Turned off the Aquasuite and was able to play 2 games - one in Warzone and one in online.
Seems that was the issue. So I suggest turning something like monitoring software off and check if it helps.
Downgrading the driver didn’t help me so I’m back to 471.68
Sorry. I guess you restarted the PC. I did several things before changing drivers like forcing Directx11 on the command line. This COD ruling does not seem to affect everyone in the same way.
Too, i disable windows security and stop Avast protection shield (all stop)
For me it was Voicemod causing the issues…
I’m using an Asus laptop. I went into Armory Crate and Game First and updated both and now Ive been playing for over an hour without issue.
This worked for me and was my only specific problem.
As someone else mentioned, the error seems to happen with third-party software that controls/monitors hardware. Each person will need to trouble-shoot which software is causing the issue, but this thread lists a great deal of them at least.
try closing nvida geforce expierience worked for me
I’ve been keetping an eye on the this thread since season 5 started, in the hope that there would be a solution, I decided to update the bios on my Asus motherboard and i’ve been playing without crash for atleast two hours now, working for now, but who knows anymore
