Country/Region change service not working

I did the same as Smokey said, I showed some evidence on what I have so far, lets hope its enough…

Im still having same issue, does anybody solved it? They told today ow1 accounts will be able to play normally, but for me it doesent work.

Try changeing website for us to eu or eu to us. Dont know why but website with region change started working after i did this.

So they responded after I sent in what I have so far to change my region, and they answered about if you played OW1 you do not need SMS. I did play OW before the deadline however, I still want to change my region anyway…

Will keep up to date…

bruh, I can’t play OW2 coz I moved to another country and can’t change my phone number to a different country, tried to contact customer support and they sent me to the stupid country\ region change service which DOESN’T WORK

played and bought OW1 before and they still asked me my phone number before playing, thanks Blizzard

Sometime today that requirement should be removed for people who have OW1 purchased and played after mid June 2021.

Can confirm, after getting a reply from support they didn’t change my region but removed the phone number requirements. I’m able to install the game, but now the account merge button won’t work.

That is cool, But that doesn’t help for people who have owned a blizzard account for like 3-4 years. It seems Stupid that if my account is that old and i still need phone number verification. I cant even change my country to the one i currently live in!

They did remove the requirement to have the SMS verified phone number if you have own OW 1 and have played since mid June 2021.

Changing country can be done though and is something you should keep up to date.

The SMS verification using NON VOIP or pre-paid is an attempt to have each Bnet account linked to one real player. Such that if they are banned or suspended it is harder to make a new account. Also harder to make smurf accounts. This is something ATVI has been doing for newer games, esp Free to Play ones.

This is their explanation.

I’m sorry but this is absolute trash.

Don’t mind adding phone numbers to keep cheaters down👍

but:

As someone who hasn’t used their battle.net account forever I happily linked it to my Xbox acc. ready to play. It asks me to add a phone number ok, but then it won’t let me put in my German number. My account seemingly is still based in NL where I studied almost 10 years ago. I can’t add a German number and I can’t change the country.

I had to open a ticket, provide tons of private information no gaming company should need and now I’m just waiting. It’s been two days, everyone is playing the game but I can’t do jack. Can’t even just create a new acc (don’t care about the old one) because it is now. linked to my Xbox Account which I actually value.

Absolutely kafkaesque, this company used to be gold. Now all it does is create a toxic work environment with sexual harrassment and provide terrible service.

Not so sure about it being kafkaesque, but the company used to be a lot smaller. The only game they really supported was WoW. Now they have a lot more huge games and support covers every game and service. The team works their butts off, but mgt does not seem to have staffed it for a surge like this. Wrath release, OW2, ban waves, etc.

As for the lawsuits. The abusive work environment and conduct goes back to when you likely considered it “gold”. It only recently came to light via lawsuits. Most of the bad actors have been gone for years. There are some who consider modern Blizzard to be too “woke” for getting rid of the people who engaged in harassment, etc. I personally prefer a fair and equal workplace. I hope they continue down that path. Same for all the other game companies in the same boat. It really was a terrible place to work, even if the games were a ton of fun to play.

Yeah you’re right about it being like that during the “golden” years. Didn’t really reflect. on my statement as I was so frustrated with trying being eintirely unable to play a game or do anything about it.

I feel for customer support, I’ve worked close to CS in the past and they do not have an easy job. Clearly mismanaged though, you can’t block people from consuming your product because they moved their place of residence and then not even allow them to change their reside ce without waiting a week plus. Frustrating.

pleseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee blizzar, fix the bug

this is happening to me!

hi, my name is, what, my name is who?

Well, just for an update, if you happen to relocate to South Korea, submitting a ticket and changing country/region setting is just not possible even with your valid gov’t issued ID.

I made this account like 10 years ago back when I was living in the U.S., and I relocated to South Korea few years ago. I wanted to access COD MW, but it requires phone verification. Because I cannot change the setting by myself, I submitted the tickets both to the U.S. and the Korean CS, and they just said even if I provide my gov’t issued ID, it is NOT POSSIBLE to change my country/region setting.

Their solution? Make a new Korean Blizzard account and repurchase all the games. Of course, they DO NOT refund the games I already paid.

Blizzard simply barred me from accessing the games I PAID FOR without giving me any options simply because they don’t allow me to change my country/region setting. I frigging have all the blizzard game in this account like every series of Starcraft, Diablo, CoD. Is this how they treat a loyal customers? I am never going to purchase any games via Blizzard platform again.

Blizz hasn’t fixed this yet? I can’t even send a ticket to change country

It sounds like there might be a technical problem with the service for changing the area or country.

You can try to get help by calling customer service directly.

How long does it actually take for CS to answer tickets? I’m stuck in a limbo - wanting to purchase D4 but can’t do so because my account is stuck in the wrong region…

Same here, waiting for 2 days already. Wanted to make a pre-order… I think there are plenty people realised they are in the wrong region just before the release, so support team is overloaded.
