wow, now they added change to delete account with security code and secret question. nice, except i cannot submit ticket cause there is open one, or so system says, but i have no open account deletion tickets.

Delete mine too; asked like 5 times now and been denied 5 times because i don’t want to provide photo ID. You fu-king w-hores at Blizzard holding my data hostage? You self-centered bastards in your ivory tower? Get down from your high horse before someone kicks you off !!!

They have never gotten a picture of my ID unless it was illegally obtained and without my knowledge or consent. Never once has any other account website or game wanted my GOVERNMENT ID so no.

A short letter to a company that is trying it’s best to weasel out of responsibility for it’s actions:
You POS. I haven’t touched your services in over 4 years and now, when I want to leave, not even an ID with only the information you need is enough for you. And you have the gall to reply back to me that you couldn’t verify it was me because you want my facial recognition in your data. I am sick and tired of you and I will continue to spam you with the exact same picture till you remove my account. It has all the information you need to verify that it is me. f u ck you.

I am not willing to provide private sensitive information to Blizzard for them to delete an account that has not been used. As an alternative, I am seeking a permanent ban for posting my opinion on proximal issues.
It is my hope that Blizzard and the Chinese Communist Party crash and burn. Free Hong Kong. Free the Uyghurs. Free Tibet. Relinquish claims to the South China Sea. Recognise Taiwan, the REAL China. Memory hole Marxism and ALL of its derived iterations.

An update - today is seven days after adding a mobile number to my account, and I did just get the “SMS confirmation” as an option on deleting the account. I entered the code and was logged out - my account now says that Blizzard is processing a permanent deletion request.
If this posts, I’d recommend adding a text-capable phone as an alternative to uploading your ID. The seven-day wait is lame but it beats sending your PII to a dodgy company who is owned in part by Tencent.

I hear ya, Dude…I have been an avid follower for the Blizzard movement, however, I have become so distraught over the past few years…
In my opinion, WOW, lost it’s appeal to me when they moved from WOTLK to Cata…I hated it so so much…Now we can’t even customize our talents…that sucks! All the pre-determined BS has sucked the life out of my game play entirely…
I have tried to delete my info, for years…but it is always there!!!
We have the right under our constitution to have our info … all of it… and do what we want with it…Blizzard thinks they are above the law…I am going to fight this - tooth and nail - delete my info Blizzard!
I am looking into legal procedures against Blizzard now…They are going to pay me…BIG Time!
For those in EU shouldnt this fall under the same act as all those emails. A company must always be able to provide you with the exact information they hold on you and remove that account upon request. All you have to do as a citizen is send them an email with a request. That is the law. You might have to verify some of the information beforehand but you shouldn’t have to do it by submitting even more private information. Just by giving them some things to double check.
