I tried anything & everything - I do not have any “crazy white funky” AV or any of the programs mentioned previously in this thread (Sophos, Citrix, etc.,)
However, I let me PC cool off and rebooted and viola! All of a sudden my game is now launching and am able to play again.
i don’t have an antivirus installed, do i need to install one and do the an exception in order for this to work ?
the only way where worked for me was
Unistall Webex
Unistall Comodo Antivirus !!!
I uninstall Citrix, I updated my Nvidia driver, I deleted all the files under 2 mb in the Data folder along with all the other folders besides Data, I ran ModernWarfare.exe as an administrator, I put a virus exception in Sophos. I ran the scan and repair so many times. Thanks to all the people that have suggested all these fixes. Nothing has worked!!!
Where the hell is Blizzard with an official reply or a patch to fix this. This is ridiculous.
Guys I have finally figured it out! After almost breaking my whole system and ripping out all of my hair trying absolutely everything I can think of… I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT!!
Update your BIOS… Literally something so simple caused all this anger and frustration. Hopefully this helps all you out. Enjoy.
I checked Windows event log. It seems there is an issue with the ntdll.dll library. All software and drivers are up to date, game reinstalled from scratch. No luck so far. This is really frustrating!

Is there any resolution to this? Blizzard hasn’t said a thing about it. How can a game this popular have this issue go on for so long. Is there a patch coming out to fix this? I am glad I did not buy the game yet, I was waiting to see if I liked Warzone.

Nice you replied… You know, I can wrtite here that “I travelled to the future in order to delete the whole System32 Folder, then came back to the present, reboted and now the game works like a charm”, thing.
Could play the game without issues until version 1.36.3.9040825

I ran first a sfc /scannow
It found no issues and after a restart it found Windows Updates which I installed. However, the game was still not working.
I uninstalled the AMD Drivers and updated to latest AMD drivers. Did not work.
Currently running 21.4.1 on RX 5700 XT

Hi all,
I just went to Activision’s website and reported the bug I would encourage you all to do so to so this gets fixed faster. SupportActivisionCom/options Select the game and platform and submit your ticket. Add dots between the capital letters since we cannot put links in here for some reason, This is what I said to them:
*I cannot start the game. This has been ongoing since 04/22. You hit play in the Blizzard Battlenet game launcher and it says Launching. Then it goes back to Play and the game hangs.
- I have tried everything in this forum link below short or re-installing the game. Others are having the exact same issue but there has been no resolution.
- I provide them a link to this forum topic
- *Scan and repair created an endless loop. I fixed that with the help of the forum but I am back to square one, it will not start. *
- I uninstalled Citrix, I updated my Nvidia driver, I deleted all the files under 2 mb in the Data folder along with all the other folders besides Data and re-ran the scan and repair, I ran ModernWarfare.exe as an administrator, I put a virus exception in Sophos. I ran the scan and repair so many times. Nothing works. Please help.

I am at the same stage as you… contacted Activision support, they suggesting deliting cache, did that and the issue persist. Raised a ticket and explained the issue, hopefully a fix soon

Jesus Christ., it’s been two weeks and still no progress.
I had to install COD MW3, so I could at least play something.
I rarely play warzone, mostly in multiplayer - I don’t understand what I paid money for?
