Call of Duty *NEW patch 4/22/2021* - Won't launch

This Worked for me >>>. Also read for those with COMODO Antivirus, which I do not have, but I do have the Firewall to go to: Settings > Advanced Protection > Miscellaneous > Don’t detect shellcode injections in these applications. I’ve added the game folder “Call of Duty Modern Warfare” and Battle.net Folder…

Try1: Updated Nvidia Drivers >> did not work
Try2: Tried to scan and repair >> did not work
Try3: Tried to modify files by removing each component (ex. campaign , multiplayer , coop) >> did not work
Try4: tried to reinstall battle.net >> did not work

if you have COMODO installed i would suggest you try the step above first

Didn’t work for me :’(

We should try to report this issue on Activision support and Raven software twitter pages. Very few people are posting there, they might not realize there’s a lot of us going through this headache.

Hey guys I have gone through same troubleshooting for the past week and finally got a hold of Activision by submitting a ticket on their support site. Their response was to turn off anti-virus and firewall which is ridiculous because we shouldn’t put our computers at risk just to play one game… They need to patch this to allow AVs and firewalls to run concurrently with the game like they did pre-season 3.

Am also going through this frustration. Similarly to others was able to play the first part and rebirth island parts of the season 3 event but after that my game just broke. Have nopt been able to play since the full season 3 update went live. Have tried all the above solutions (scan and repair, fully reinstalled 3 times) NOTHING WORKS!!! Can play cold war multiplayer and zombies but warzone either refuses to launch or will launch and then crash with a fatal error message saying warzone has stopped working. Like the OP i play this game 5+ hours a day and enjoy doing so, now i cant even get the game to start!!! A patch update was released today which i came home to find my computer automatically downloading, i had high hopes that this update would fix the problem but alas no such luck. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!

Hi,

If you have comodo antivirus, not unistall the whole softver, the problem is only the comodo secure shopping part. You can uninstall that from your computer and mw is start. May be the problem is a new shoping stuff in mw.
I hope I can help.

this issue has nothing to do with what antivirus we have and EVERYTHING to do with trash software.

Activision support said it was due to AV software and firewalls.

I totally agree. Absolutely no reason we should put our computers at risk for a single game.

I solved the problem, it was my PC overheating, I had to clean it, now everything works perfectly

I tried it and it worked! I somehow can live without comodo secure shopping. Thanks!

in case anyone wants to call the head of Raven Software studios or others on the team, here’s the number:

(608) 833-5791

when you get prompted, spell the last name of:

Brian Raffel, Studio Head
Tony Magro, Senior Software Engineer
Dan Vondrak, Senior Creative Director
Dwight Luetscher, Technical Director & Chief Technology Officer

Feel free to leave them a message.

I was playing today without any issue, and after a very small update (aprox 15Mb) a few hours ago, the game stopped working. It presents the same behaviour as described by other players. No issues with Cold War so far.
