This is the second time I’ve seen this. The last time was also a Shadowlands update. At that time I had to run the repair too then uninstall the game completely before it would finish the new update. This time I still keep getting the same error code. It won’t even finish installing the game. Is anyone else having this problem?

I am having this issue as well. I have done everything on the list including uninstalling and reinstalling both the Blizzard App and the game itself. Not sure what to do now…

yep same prob. tried same advised steps to fixing and I’m still 8hrs in with it not working still. Need answers Blizz
Hey y’all,
This error can happen for a few different reasons. A common cause is a background WoW file still running even after the game is closed. Open the task manager and check the Details tab for wowvoiceproxy.exe. If it is running (while Wow.exe is not running) try ending the process, then try updating again.
Background programs like security software can also block new updates, so try adding the Blizzard app as an exception, or try disabling or uninstalling them temporarily.

If ending the WoW Voice Proxy process, or restarting the computer helps. This may return the next time an update is pushed, so we are requesting information for the BLZBNTAGT00000840 so that our team can resolve this issue for future patches.
gotta say this cleared things up for me. I don’t even know what the voice proxy thing is but after digging through my task manager found 2 of them running. Ended them both and update began functioning normal again. Thanx for the response to this issue Blizz.
