After trying all the suggested options all of which didn’t solve the problem. I managed to fix it by completely closing my antivirus program. After which I opened the blizzard agent (as soon as the blizzard homepage was up I restarted my anti virus program) and running whatever game i wanted.

I have been with this issue for 4 days. I deleted all my wow files and tried to run the blizzard.exe and it just hangs. I did all the suggestions and still, my computer can’t execute that program.
This instantly worked!!! I quit gamefirst while stuck at 45% update agent and it instantly finished download once i shut down asus gamefirst.

This actually works for me. The ‘cn’ mandates BattleNet to update through China server, which is down.
Please note: My prodcut file does not have .cn, just replace the only occurance of it to en and it is now moving on.
