I’ve been trying to get access to my WoW account for the past 2 weeks. I moved to Japan and had my number changed, now my “Authenticator” doesn’t work and I can’t get access anymore. I created a brand new account to contact blizzard in game, and they’ve NOT been helpful at all. I’ve put numerous tickets into blizzard with my main account and the new account. I keep getting these “BOT” responses, and when I send a new ticket in with the correct information, they respond with “Wrong” then they close the ticket and I have to start the process all over again.
I’ve had my account since BC, took a couple month break as I moved. It’s pissing me off that I can’t access my own account because of stupid 2-step verification errors, I get that I should have changed my number when I moved, but that wasn’t an option since I didn’t have a number in Japan. Now I am locked out and can’t access any of my blizzard games. Can’t play WoW, can’t play Diablo IV, or any others.
Blizzards “Support” is almost non-existent from what I’ve researched and my experience. They don’t respond, there is no live chat, there’s no contact phone number, can’t talk to GM’s anymore in game, nothing! This is a huge issue for players to have to deal with!
Is there anyone here that can help me? I’d really appreciate it, I don’t want my 15yr account turned to dust because “Authenticator” and Blizzard Support is completely flawed.
If you arent able to pass those security checks, it’s going to be all but impossible to regain access to the account.
Those checks are all Bliz has to verifiy the account holder.
The support forums are primarily player to player forums where the community can provide advice/make suggestions.
One exception is the WoW Customer Support forum. There, you can ask if the SFAs have any insight into what the hang ups are. They can’t directly help you, but they could point you in the right direction. Also, understand that it isn’t their job to reply to questions there, they just tend to when they have a moment.
Unfortunately, its a BOT that verifies my info. I know this because the info I submitted worked the last time and this time the same info isn’t working. They have a BOT verifying your crudentials which isn’t good. They ask for serial numbers, which I respond with “I don’t have anymore as that was more than 15yrs ago”.
It’s frustrating because their system is locking players (legit players) from their own accounts.
I may not be an expert like you Leviathan but I have a similar issue and I’ve created a ticket by another way and it seems to be either a different team or people that know what they are doing at Blizzard.
Here’s what I recommend but keep in mind that I went this route because:
I could not authenticate my account to make changes
Support FAQs all lead me in circles through the pages
Couldn’t open a Web Ticket the normal way since the ‘‘Submit’’ button was turning endlessly (waited 90 minutes)
Now the real stuff:
I don’t know if it works in every web browser but it worked for me with Firefox.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LOG IN
You need to open a private browsing page (incognito or whatever)
Go to battle.net then scroll down to the end and click on Contact Us
On this page choose Customer Support
Close the pop-up asking for your info and then click on Account
Click on ''I would rather categorize the issue
Choose ‘‘Not listed here’’ this is very important or else the system will ask you to log in
Again, click on the blue Contact Us button
Fill out the form as needed and press the Submit button and voilà
It may take a few seconds to a few minutes until it submits but it works
