Hello, I have developed an interest in collecting Classic era mogs in Retail. I’ve been working my way through Kalimdor collecting mog from zones, quests, dungeons, and raids.
I seem to have hit a speed bump with Zul’Farrak though. There are two rares there that do not seem to drop the items on their loot table no matter how much I farm them. They are Dustwraith and Zerillis.
I am aware that both rares only drop the items on their table for specific classes and specs. Dustwraith will only drop his cane if an intellect user is present. Zerillis will only drop his boots if a Monk, Druid, Demon Hunter, or Rogue is present. The drop rates on Wowhead suggest that both items have a high drop rate, which makes sense considering it is pretty rare for people to run dungeons without one of those classes or specs.
The snag I appear to be having is that I have almost 100 runs in ZF and multiple kills for both rares. I have been farming with a Demon Hunter, Mage, Druid, Monk, and Paladin. I’ve killed Dustwraith multiple times with the Mage, Druid, and Paladin. I have tried switching specs to the Intellect based specs of those classes, and I have nothing. I have killed Zerillis with the Druid, Demon Hunter, Mage, and Monk. Obviously excluding the Mage, all of those have been in their Agility based specs. And again, nothing.
This feels like I am doing something wrong, but I can’t see what. I’ve tried reading up on both rares on Wowhead, but I can’t find anything to suggest other than what I have been doing is the right thing to do. I’ve also consulted Reddit and found nothing. I can’t seem to find anything here on the forums either. Everything seems to suggest that if you have the right class/spec, the two items I am seeking should be there for the looting. This doesn’t seem like a luck-based issue.
So, any feedback that can be shared that will help me get these items is appreciated. I don’t know if this is a bug or not. I’m leaning in that direction, but I want to see if there’s other things I can try first.
