Can’t kill Experimental Misstep in the vaults. Lvl 70 arcane mage. Can’t freeze this guy or slow him. Can’t counterspell it’s abilities. Any advice would be appreciated, except of course the popular refrain “git good”. Thanks

Hey, I couldn’t get it for a while but just got it. it’s the third room on the left when you first come in. There is a failed potion of plague, hit it, then fight it.

So, as soon as I get into the main chamber it notices me and races out of its room after me. I can’t open a vault door when in combat. What should I do?

I can’t kill the thing either. Anytime I step foot off the stairs it comes after me and kills me within 3 shots.

I’m having this issue only on my rogue, my hunter, sham, and pally burn it down no issue. The problem I run into is getting mobbed by all of the adds on the lower floor the moment I reach the bottom of the stairs IN STEALTH. Why was F.E. given infrared vision? How is F.E. able to aggro ALL THE OTHER MOBS on the lower floor before it chases you. Vanish really only helps once per 2 minutes. You can’t Sap anything in combat, and you’re instantly IN combat. 20 deaths on my 395 rogue. I do M+ content regularly. WTF

I believe the intended “trick” for beating the FE is to drink the potion in his room “Failed Phial of Mutation” or something like that. It turns you into an undead bag of goo but it also gives you 1M hp while keeping all your normal abilities. Not sure if it also conveys any resistance to the slime attacks (although you should be manually avoiding those).
But if it is pulling all the respawned floor mobs too that might still not be enough. It does seem overtuned, as they say, along with the big Unstable rock statue guy that can also spawn in a ground floor room.

Ok, figured it out. I was able to aggro the various mobs in such a way that I never had more than 2 at a time. It was just frustrating, but use your CCs and it helps immensely.
So, okay… I didn’t even know the potion was there before it killed me (70 Frost Mage), and now it kills me before I can get to the potion, even with Greater Invisibility.
Can you group with someone to beat it
Edit: By distracting it up the stairs and then using Greater Invisibility, I managed to get back to it’s room and clear it out. The Failed Phial isn’t there. The moment I left the room without Invisibility, it came back down the stairs and killed me.
