What exactly am I supposed to be doing here? This goes on forever. I’ve noticed that if I do a few…lines (that sounds so bad) exit and repeat the process I eventually ‘win’ but if I stay on one game I can go for like 20 minutes trying to open a chest that basically has trash in it.
I assumed i was supposed to get a set equal in number and color to the symbols above the chest. but I’ve done that before too and it kept going.
The color over the treasure chest is what you’re trying to get. I think the past few times I’ve gotten it, it’s had 4 blue runes, meaning I had to get 4 blue runes in one row instead of the 3 it usually takes.
It should be a match four in a line puzzle. If it doesn’t clear check if you’re in a raid group or something that may stop quest completions as this was a niche thing that happened in azshara wqs as well.
If that doesn’t work you can use my usual method of skip it since it isnt worth the time spent (you can always come back to open more doors next week that will be way faster.)
You have to match 4 of the shown color in a line going horizontally. It needs to look exactly like what’s shown above the chest, which can be a bit tricky.
I think they can be vertical too, at least I’m pretty sure i have completed it that way too.

I know for sure horizontal or vertical works. And I think 4 in a “T” also works. At least it did in Nazjatar.
Four in a row which seems super annoying but usually doesn’t take long.
