Like: Barrens, Ashenvale, Tirisfal, Westfall, Duskwood, Hillsbrad, STV
Hated: Any zone with lava, volcano, or really hot desert themed terrain. I feel like most of those were 48-60 zones and I formed no nostalgia or lasting memories there, just deadheaded to 60 at that point.
Zones I loved: Night elven places such as Teldrassil, Ashenvale, Darkshore. Feralas, Azshara, Winterspring, Eastern & Western Plaguelands, and Stranglethorn Vale.
Zones I hated/didn’t play much: Un Goro Crater, Blasted Lands, Dwarven places, and Thousand Needles.
you will probably end up liking 1000 needles if you started wow after the cataclysm. because in vanilla, it’s not flooded and has some fun little quests at the speedway on the salt flats.
Tirisfal Glades - First character I made was undead, I have the utmost nostalgia here, totally immersive, eerie, love the music.
Azshara - My favorite grinding spot for 55+. Big, open, no one goes here, my favorite place to just turn on some chill music and just grind away without worry.
Ashenvale - because obviously
Stonetalon Mountains - Nice little quieter leveling area for the Horde.
Feralas - As Alliance, the holy grail of grinding around level (43~?) on Feathermoon Isle. LOOOOVE this place.
Zones I hate:
Ungoro Crater: Worst zone in the game for me, I hate this place. Swamps to slow you down, monster placement is terrible, just don’t like it.
Searing Gorge - screw falling down the pits when you’re running back to your corpse.
Swamp of Sorrows - Weak quests as Alliance, everything just gets in the way there. Gross.
