I have been thinking about the Classic zones & the ones I am most looking forward to.
These are MY favorite zones to quest through.
Stranglethorn Vale, Un’goro Crater, Burning Steppes, Mulgore, Dun Morogh
ZONES I HATED TO QUEST THROUGH
Azshara, Feralas, Eastern Plaguelands, Desolace, Felwood, 1000 Needles
Either way, I can’t wait to quest through all of these zones as I never got to experience the Vanilla version of them.
What zones do you remember fondly or negatively?
It’s funny how different we can be. I would turn your list completely upside down.
The zones you hated were basically my favorite zones in the game minus Westfall, Arathi Highlands and Winterspring.
To this Day Silithus is a terrible zone and the worst they ever designed, In my opinion.
I loved Mulgore, Tirisfal Glades, Duskwood, Alterac Mountains, Desolace, Hinterlands, Felwood, Ungoro Crater, Winterspring, and Eastern Plaguelands.
I liked almost every zone, but those were my favorite.
Azshara was my favorite zone- Scenery , dragons, giants, beasts, etc
Like: Barrens, Ashenvale, Tirisfal, Westfall, Duskwood, Hillsbrad, STV
Hated: Any zone with lava, volcano, or really hot desert themed terrain. I feel like most of those were 48-60 zones and I formed no nostalgia or lasting memories there, just deadheaded to 60 at that point.

Love Tirisfal Glades. Feels like home–safe, comfortable, surrounded by friends and family, especially the area around Brill and UC. New beginnings.
Love the Barrens. Vibrant, alive, never sleeps, a place where the horde come together unlike any other.
Love Eastern Plaguelands. Danger and threats all around, feels like a transition from questing adventurer into something bigger.
Blackrock Mountain. An expansive place rich with legend, where you can add your own tale to the story.
Zones I loved: Night elven places such as Teldrassil, Ashenvale, Darkshore. Feralas, Azshara, Winterspring, Eastern & Western Plaguelands, and Stranglethorn Vale.
Zones I hated/didn’t play much: Un Goro Crater, Blasted Lands, Dwarven places, and Thousand Needles.
Favorite City: Darnassus
Least Favorite City: Stormwind
Love:
Dun Morogh, Loch Modan, Westfall, The Barrens, Feralas
Hate:
Silithus. Hate bug zones. Hate them.
I hated leveling here, but loved returning later on haha.
Feralas was one of my fav’s to level and return too in because of the visuals, it was active cause Dire Maul, but not teaming.
But my all time favorite place to level was the original barrens.
redridge, hillsbrad (and by extension alterac) arathi highlands, and swamp of sorrows were always my favourite
i dont think i could do the barrens or silverpine again though.

Zones I didn’t like were: Stranglethorn Vale and Redridge
you will probably end up liking 1000 needles if you started wow after the cataclysm. because in vanilla, it’s not flooded and has some fun little quests at the speedway on the salt flats.
