Was looking at the classic map and at one point there was a zone under the badlands and next to the burning steppes that you can’t access. was this something just taken out or did deathwing sink it to into the ocean? it’s sort of interesting because we know there’s that area behind strathholm sandwiched inbetween the plaguelands and quelthalas yet that was never removed from the map. Yet this area was.
Those were generally just mountains to separate one zone from the next. Now that you can fly they are made into more mountains.
If I’m not mistaken, that zone was to be used for another leveling zone but got scrapped in early alpha.
The zone between Plaguelands and Quel’thalas has always been speculated to be either a grand city of Stratholme, that got reduced in size and made into an instance or to be part, or an intro at least, of the Dragon Isles
