so I’m leveling my lvl 35 nelf through all the night elf zones in kalimdor, and most of them are level 1-30 zones. and as appealing is it may be to one shot everything, it gets boring. is there any way to scale with the zone? (also not using Chromie time bc i just wanted to focus on certain zones)
Gotta use chromie time to make the zone scale with you

You can’t scale the zones to your level unless you use Chromie Time.

Chromie time doesn’t fix the issue. Sure its not one shot, but you’re still invincible.

Remove your gear, and you can scale that way.
leveling is fairly trivial now. if you want it to be more difficult the wise gnome above me has the best advice.
Go play Classic Vanilla. You can go all the way up to where TBC starts.
Then level a toon to 10 in Retail and do TBC from there.

Chromie Time would still get you focus on specific zones. Just set Chromie Time to Cataclysm and head back to Kalimdor.
This is just how leveling in retail is 
Modern leveling dungeons especially are such bad boring content.
Leveling via dungeons is horrible game play but so many do it.
Efficiency is more important than fun for a lot of people…
It’s like a weird addiction to being efficient.
Or maybe as bad as the leveling dungeon content is, it’s better than questing.
