Zombies in Zul’Furrak are occasionally able to interrupt spell casting with physical damage despite an active and fresh Ice Barrier.
Captured the bug on video here:
Fresh ice barrier is applied at 0:11, but spell pushback from loose zombie still occurs during Blizzard cast.
I’m unable to replicate the bug at will, and haven’t identified any patterns for when it occurs.
The bug can also occur with add-ons disabled, so the issue isn’t there.
Probably due to spell batching which also happens with their melee attacks, also notice its only on the first melee hit, my thoughts are when it started its attack and was out of range it knew it could interrupt/knockback your spell cast, then it finally got in range and by that stage you had ice barrier up.
something definitely isn’t right here though
Hi, thanks for the reply!
Actually, every melee strike from the loose zombie affects the cast when the bug occurs, not only the first strike.
In the first blizzard cast, the first strike takes the castbar down to about half duration. The second strike wipes out the remainder of the cast. It’s normally an 8 second cast.
…unless I’m misunderstanding what you’re pointing out.
you lost 2.7 seconds for each knockback, and it pulses every 3 seconds so it would wipe two extra ticks off of your blizzard in turn also making it “end” early coinciding with the second melee attack.
Thats how I understand the video anyway, its certainly not right to cause knockback while you have ice barrier up though regardless of spell batching or not.

Same thing is happening for me in Mara. With an Ice Barrier up, the poison casts from the sprites are still causing spell push back. I used a Greater NR potion along with an Ice Barrier the next attempt and blizzards would end nearly instantly from the push back.
Exactly whats happening to me in mara too, i put up fresh ice barrier and poison attacks are still going through shield and interrupting my cast, while my barrier is up the entire time, its happening after the patch came through
