That wouldn’t work out the way you think it would. Might rope a bunch of starry eyed trash into PVP. But really only top guilds would seriously shoot for that stuff.
As a lifelong PVE’er, I can appreciate this message. Wish I had seen it sooner.
how can zombies exist near ICC, doesn’t even make sense. Only living beings should be there
glorious bronham plaque explosion
5 minutes is sufficient when it’s used to then kill you, and when you run back, get ganked again.
And is this situation, it’s the worse of all when 5 minutes stops you from being able to get a chance at the loot you spent a couple hours waiting for.
If these rares were like Mecagon, frequent and unpredictable, it probably wouldn’t be so bad. Instead, you basically have gangs preparing themselves for a grief fest at a specific place and specific time because they know that’s when people will be there.
Yes, the truth especially emerged in classic wow considering all the people who said flying had killed world pvp and how enjoyable it would be.
In reality, when it was launched, it was so hated, and such an outcry, that blizzard has to stop server transfers for specific factions because one faction (alliance) was basically leaving on masse to the the point one pvp server basically ended up with near-zero alliance players. Afterwards, they released battlegrounds earlier than planned to help remove people who wanted to pvp from the open world into the battlegrounds.
The simple truth is that many people (the majority?) aren’t into world pvp and the bonus could be 80% and various people still won’t do it. Mostly because it isn’t actually engaging or sophisticated. The primary objective is to make it miserable for the people. I mean, this is the game where players griefed a funeral! If it was isolated to just the cities, they would likely complain because they aren’t frustrating people enough. They need to go out of their way to find the event where people will be the most upset with them.
Also noticed how much this pvp action is directed towards people who don’t even want to pvp in the first place. It all just revolves around easy kills, easy frustration, and when there’s any resistance, it’s laughable how quickly they stop rather than continue the fight.
It’s basically a bunch of bullies who take pleasure from being bullies. That says plenty about them…but it also makes you wonder about the company who sees that and basically thinks bullying is all just good fun.
As we saw in classic though, when people scream laud enough, and voice it with their wallets either by server transfer or unsubscribing, the company does move plenty quick the make changes.
They need to fully accept that no amount of forcing pvp on people, or encouraging pvp, will make the majority actually engage in pvpv.
Why don’t they ever put big rewards behind high arena rankings, but allow it for high-end PvE? Because they know that if they put too many (or any) great rewards require pvp to obtain them, many would just unsubscribe rather than go after them.
It’s Icecrown. You know, the heart of the scourge.
It’s perfectly thematic for them to be there.
That sounds awesome .
Zombies were brought to Skadi for one of my kills and a few minutes before the kill someone said that it happened last kill too x_x
That’s cool, I’m fine with that, I’m fine with dying, I’m not fine with missing loot because I got turned into a zombie.
Loot should be distributed via mail in the case of a successful tag followed by turning into a zombie. If it isn’t…
Small indie dev I guess?
Sorry to meme it but Blizzard is infamous for oversights.
pvp on a pvp server has never been off-limits.
if people want to organize public events, they’re going to get attention.
…and i can assure you, a funeral which is still spoken about to this day, is more memorable than any player-created-event ever on any “normal” realm.
it seems like it was quite fitting for the decedent.
nope.
but it screams volumes about you, when you’re willing to say stuff like this about people you know nothing about.
i put it to you, that you’re actually making stuff up.
as usual, no screenshots of the alleged actions of the big meanies have been provided.
just curious though… why didn’t people kill the zombies?

Lol, its isn’t that bad. I do enjoy reading these complaints that will do nothing, because they are worried about today’s launch, not today’s whiner. Stop complaining about things that you know you cannot change.
Damn that Sylvanas!
I thought about it last night, the timing would be crucial! 30 seconds to get to Icecrown at the right moment, to land when Bronjam was being attacked and let loose. The lag and how quickly he is killed, it would be challenging to pull off this caper! My hat is off to whomever did it!
It’s as if people don’t want to play in a dangerous open word.
There were ways to avoid the majority of it and I did say that I understood that some didn’t enjoy it and that it will be over very soon. And yes, feel free to voice your opinion, I’m all in favour of free speech. Just as I feel free to voice my opinion which is:
It’s a special event, it is meant to be disruptive and probably frustrating to some, it is meant to disturb the normal placid flow of the game. We weren’t sent on a picnic, we got hit by the Scourge and they don’t play by the normal rules. Players need to adapt to events, it’s a challenge to survive and work around problems.
There are aspects of the game I don’t like and things that annoy me a lot more than this temporary disruption. I got swamped a couple of times, had my plans interrupted, got zombified. Crap, as they say, sometimes happens. But as I said a number of times, it’s almost over now so everyone annoyed by it can return to their previous endeavours.
Anyhow, end of discussion for me. Its late here and I’m tired and need my beauty sleep to get ready for the big day. I hope your mood is better soon and you can get back to enjoying your game.
Welp, OP, … no bag for you this time, I guess.
You only get auto flagged by entering either SW or Org.
How You Got Flagged:
A player took the portal from Boralus to SW and were automatically flagged. They then got infected by a zombie on the way out of the portal room. They then flew to Goldshire then the infection turned them into a zombie, and got into your aggro-zone, flagging and infecting you.
The first day it started I ported from Boralus to SW, then took the CoT portal to get the anniversary quests. I got flagged porting to SW. I didn’t notice I’d been flagged. I got down to The Master’s Lair, then as I was trying to pick up the quests I got infected, turned into a zombie, and died.
I rezed at the graveyard and waited for the PvP timer to expire. Then flew down into the CoT myself and couldn’t pick up the quests because too many zombies, so I had to wait until the middle of the night to do them when no one was around.
Super easy to get flagged and infected in the portal rooms, then by the time you get to your destination you turn into a zombie, and if you’re not paying attention, can screw up an entire zone while farming the rares in Icecrown.
That’s not luck. I’m not clear on what you call a plan that one comes up with to handle a situation that would be problematic without a plan, but I might call it a strategy.
No, but really. There’s no luck here. You stood away from the zombies and tagged the enemy when it was appropriate. Nothing about this was luck, there was no random element.
