Zombie Apocalypse!

The Zombie Apocalypse were actually several events that happened in World of Warcraft many years ago. I think there was more than one. Although called by other names. These events rocked the Wow community because they interrupted and destabilized normal game play for days. But what were they and what would happen to players these days if a new Zombie Apocalypse happened now? And what would it be like?

Would you be prepared to survive a World of Warcraft Zombie Apocalypse?

These were awful events. First one stopped me from playing for days. Was lucky the second time coincided with a vacation so I didn’t miss as much. At least if they do another one I won’t even have to leave the garrisons, although I’ll lose the sanctum income for the duration. Events like this should be opt-in only, like warmode. If I want to participate I can, otherwise I don’t have my gameplay ruined. :see_no_evil::speak_no_evil::hear_no_evil:

The original event was fantastic, people that whined about it forgot what video games are for.

Thanks to the whiners, the Shadowlands redux was boring and ignorable.

I would make the event an opt-in event/mode like warmode. Cities will be swarming with undead and you would have quests to go in the city to raid for supplies. As you play in the open world in various locations, zombies will spawn in around you, at “random” times.

I have a nice little steam library to keep me entertained until it was over.

Corrupted blood needs to make a come back…

With a vengeance.

I would do exactly like I did in Wrath. Wait for all the kiddies to get their trolling out of their system, and log back in on Launch day.

video games are meant to be fun, being ganked by swarms of player controlled one shot mechanics was not fun, i see why people didnt like it.

…for PvP’ers, it probably was.

For a lot of other folks, not so much.

i miss that event, so chaotic

Then the new one they swapped it to the zombies die in a hit and if they fall half an inch they die. Could barely even fight a couple guards with a group.

I for one loved it, I was there for the first one. But today players would yell, scream so hard the forums would burn.

I’m with Fluffer on this, I want to be opted out unless I have warmode on.

I mean y’all already won, they neutered the event when it was revisited to the point that it was pointless.

Congrats I guess?

I don’t pvp and it was amazing especially on RP servers where people formed defenses and groups of priest and paladins set up cleansing stations.

People complain there are no RP elements in game, then complain when there is.

But these days players just stand around in cities waiting on queues.

I think the playerbase of today would throw one of the biggest tantrums we’ve seen in awhile.

These people don’t actually want to play real video games, they are much more suited for phone clicker games.

Which is fine, but unfortunately they want to turn every other game into a mobile phone clicker game.

Gatekeeping is good for society.

Oddly enough I was actually talking about these events a few days ago with a buddy who used to play. We echoed the same thing others have said on here…the player base today would go absolutely nuclear and b!tch so hard it’s not even funny.

I too really enjoyed them. The chaos was a blast.

Then again, I enjoyed it when people would kite world bosses into the capitols.

Same here, the chaos was glorious.
Todays player base would not stand for it.
