Zin'anthed rank 2 bugged?

Got the quest item from gathering to feed and kill the lasher. He did not give an item for a follow up quest for rank two.

I got the same quest item from gathering and cannot interact with a new soil pile to feed and kill him again. Is this a once a day thing? Is the drop for rank 2 not guaranteed? Or is this a bug?

I just had the same issue. I finished the quest, but my rank didnā€™t go up.

Has anyone tried dropping herbalism then relearning and using the tome?

I remember there was an anchor weed bug with the quest at the start of BFA that was similar.
That was the only way to fix it.

It sounds like the first time you do the Lasher there is no chance for the item to drop, but it can drop from the second and subsequent Lashers. They are probably implemented as two separate events with the same name, a one time one you get first then a repeatable one after that, and only the repeatable one has the skill rank on its loot table.

yeah, can confirm, I submitted a ticket and got an answer.
Apparently, the first time you do the event itā€™s a ā€œtutorialā€ and thereā€™s no chance for the rank up item to drop.

Itā€™ll refresh with dailies and the next time it will drop. Apparently.

It is working for me now, canā€™t get the mining quest done though.

I got another Germinating Seed, but I canā€™t seem to find the fertile soil. Not sure what Iā€™m missing.

So I never did find the soil. It just wasnā€™t there for me. I did manage to get rank 2 though by trolling LFG, randomly signing up for groups and checking to see if the soil was there. Ultimately I found one where the dude was already up and a bunch of people were killing it, so I just jumped in and it dropped the recipe.

This is proooooobably not working as intended :slight_smile:

Having to do this twice to get to rank 2 is the most asinine garbage idea. Just put the rank 2 recipe as a quest reward for the first time completing it just like EVERY OTHER HERB QUEST SINCE LEGION and EVERY HERB QUEST IN BFA.

Why this has to be dragged out like this is idiotic beyond belief.

In general, things that should take at best 10 mins get dragged out toan hourā€¦ sure seems 100% by design. And the ā€œwe reduced timegatingā€ was a shuck n jive (old school style, now-a-days called fake news)>
