ZG Shoulder Enchant Exploit

As far as I’m aware, ZG shoulder enchants cannot be applied to BoEs and traded any more, nor can they be applied via non-trade window.

HOWEVER, people are reporting that the shoulder enchants they managed to trade before the hotfix are still working on low level characters. Please fix this.

Note: the fix to ZG head/leg class enchants seems successful.

How do they fix it? Delete the gear?

Whats done is done and any changes could break shoulder enchants on correct enchanted gear. They could add some code that states you need exalted rep to ‘activate’ the enchant but thats alot of work.

IKR having grandfathered stat gains in classic seems ridiculous. They should just make it like the head / leg enchant. Make it so the enchant isn’t activated unless you’re 58 or 60.

or even a class name type like tier gear.

You could always do this, what was new was the ability to add them to bop pieces. As long as the class matches the enchant, there’s no problem.

You’re missing the point. Yes you could always use a ZG enchant on a boe shoulder. The problem is that you CANT do this anymore and the people who have already done it, get to keep their working enchants. Either everyone should be able to do it, or no one.

Blizzard confirmed in their blue posts the enchants only work for level 60 characters of the appropriate class. The enchant remains on the gear otherwise but is grayed out and does not apply.

Yes but they only mention head / legs enchants right? Nothing about the shoulder enchants not working on traded boe shoulders.

That’s really not true. In Vanilla they made a mistake with the paladin 2H sword from the ST quest being BoE instead of BoP…and since quest rewards don’t have level requirements…well you can imagine what happened. They fixed it by adding a level requirement retroactively. It’d be pretty easy for them to retroactively apply a requirement of needing to be level 60 or 58 or whatever to benefit from ZG enchants. Hell, make the enchant require exalted reputation to benefit. Not sure why you think that’s “a lot of work”

I’m pretty sure Vanilla allowed enchanting shoulders on BoEs for twinks (though you might have had to get the item on your main first and mail it), the new issue was class enchants getting moved around to other classes and that’s what I thought they fixed, not the ZG shoulder enchants. But I don’t really pay attention to the twink world.

Really though… who’s still twinking with the separated battle groups? Last I checked queues were horrendous. Keep your 18 AP to shoulders. Lol

They reverted that a few weeks ago.

Who really needs some OP garbage to carry you. You just need a nice set of muscles and youre good to go.

It was my understanding that you could still enchant but the enchant will be mute if it doesn’t match it’s class.

They remerged the battlegroups. Twinks are back on the menu, boys.

To those that didn’t read the post properly… the CLASS enchants got fixed. The shoulder enchants (these are not class enchants) got broken even worse than before. I have no issue with either allowing them or not allowing them, however I DO have issue with allowing only a select few people to have the broken gear, while others can no longer get it.

Yep, what this guy said. These enchants are not active. You can see them on the gear but they dont’ do anything for the wrong class.
