I have had Zero wait time to get into the server. Am I the only one? Because I keep reading others horror stories and it’s making me wonder what’s going on? I understand full/high pop servers are going to have a Queue and Blizzard warned those on those servers what to expect. It just baffles me that people are upset when they knowingly joined servers that were going to be the most popular and yet are surprised they have to wait to play…
There wasnt a lot of choices early on especially when the name reservation thing happened.
Its just a handful of people complaining that refuse to leave herod faerlina stalagg and so on, even though they were warned well ahead of launch this would happen. Ignore their misery. It’s self-inflicted.
Old Blanchy was my second choice, I got all the character names there that I wanted, but I stuck it out with Myzrael (also got all the character names I wanted). The queue times here have not been bad, last night it hit 65 minutes at 17:00 PST when I logged in. This morning, no queue at all. If that’s the worst it will be, I can handle that.
Blizzard only had a small handful of servers and advertised that people should reserve names. Blizzard later starts adding new servers, without some mechanic to transfer saved names over.
Also remember that people were joining servers as groups of friends, or even entire guilds.
Not true. Lies and fake news. Herod was one of the few eastern PVP servers if not the only one. Maybe there was one other at name reservation and launch time.
I made one char on a dozen servers. Unfortunately there’s one stuck on Herod when we could reserve names and there were like 5 realms available. But I got into a no-queue realm and played some til world crash - so very classic.
I don’t need a bunch of friends just to experience classic and remember how tough it was in the beginning. Low pop quiet(er) realms are fine with me.
There was like 4 pvp est servers at least before launch. Stalagg opened up bc herod full, people moved to stalagg, that filled up, people moved to skeram, then within 30 minutes of launch they opened more. Blizz did fine. You should of hopped out of your 20k+ all day queue and rolled on another server.
Yep. Players not moving isnt Blizzards fault.
Not to mention server choice is limited quite a bit if you want PvP, on top of the guild/friend/name reservation issue.
Now that the cat is out of the bag, some have managed to log in both days and are well on their way to their 30’s… many others haven’t picked up the first quest. Its a complete crap show.
And the names reserved were all taken. Just stop it already. Blizz messed up and now people are legitimately angry
You are aware that the last pvp est server to open was Incendius, which was full within like 2 hours of it opening yesterday afternoon.
Newest server, 4 hour wait.
Yeah, there are a lot of people who didn’t want to move, for various reasons, but don’t pretend there weren’t long waits on every realm.
Actually, i didnt get the names i wanted on any of the servers ahead of launch. But with all you stubborn fools waiting in huge queues on full population servers, my cousin and i was able to get every single name we wanted when they new servers launch. You should of expected new servers to keep opening. Blizzard said it would happen. If your worried about friends and guildmates, you should of been smart enough to say “everyone, if the queue gets over a certain point, and a new pvp est server opens, dump queue and create your main on secondary server.” that wouldnt of hurt one bit.
Incendius, kirtonos, kromcrush they opened all kinds of other pvp est servers. Get with it. I got home at 10pm and only had to wait in queue 30minutes.
Edit: o, sulfuas is also pvp eastern lets not forget that one.
I had zero wait time to play right at launch yesterday and today when I logged back on same result as yesterday. So not every realm had a wait time, just sayin.
If OP is correct and there’s zero queue for some servers, then there’s absolutely no reason for people to complain. Blizzard is selling subscriptions to WoW Classic, not the right to be on your server of choice.
The Blizzard CMs should do a better job making it clear that there are zero queue servers, otherwise people are just gonna hear the 5 hour queue horror stories and decide to not even try Classic.
Old Blanchy is beautiful to me! I didn’t get chucknorris name, but I DID get Steve, Elwynn, and HOGGER. I had to do Hoggr on another server, and Steve was almost as impossible as chucknorris. I made like 48 toons yesterday and will likely delete a bunch when I sober up. Bloodsail is where my mains and cool guild are, but Old Blanchy might be the normal server I toy around in solo or whatnot. I was committed to bloodsail weeks before launch, and just did a scattershot of names across a few servers maybe to help decide which one I’d like to settle on.
On Bloodsail, I got Stormhoof (shaman), Skyhorn (druid), Stampede (hunter), Steelhorn (warrior), Lorcan (human mage), some others I’m forgetting. My guild also got Blood and Thunder guild name 30 minutes after launch - level 1 raid group racing to thunder bluff scraping coin and trash off level 5-8 stuff for that.
Wrong. Even the new servers like Incendius had incredibly long queues that stretched on for hours, in some cases over 8 hours. This isn’t a problem that is exclusive to Herod, Faerlina and Stalagg.
I’m in a queue of 2500 for Incendius now that has gone on for 30 minutes. Started at about 7500, then fell dramatically in only a few minutes.
The queues always end up higher on realms with the try hard cool sounding names, so expect longer wait times on things like incendius and sulfuras
Ok, so the problem has to do with cool names and not server bunching like you said before?
