Zerging is boring

Epic BGs need work. After 70 some of them turn into boring, unrewarding zergs that are over in minutes, sometimes without fighting any other players. Today I managed two Alterac Valley matches that didn’t yield a single honour kill.

Ashran? Run through the backdoor and kill the boss. Over.

It shouldn’t be that easy. I’m not one of the ones who hate PvE objectives in battlegrounds. I actually like it, but there should be some PvP involved in a PvP match, right?

Please retune these two battlegrounds so that we have to fight each other like what was intended.

Yea I mentioned this in an ashran the other day. These tactics shouldn’t be possible until the tail end of an expansion, not the beginning. If it’s this bad now then by the end of DF people will be soloing the end bosses even in dps specs since as far as I know they don’t tune epic bg pvp npcs mid expansion.

In both AV and Ashran, you can turtle with the boss and wear the opposition down, which is fun, but it isn’t easy to convince people to do that.

The Zerg mentality has been around since god, tbc or wotlk? It’s awful but people only care about maximizing their honor per hour. Even most recently at the end of tbc classic I remember people getting mad if I tried to get people to play defense, the funny part was the most honor I got in one game was when I convinced the team to wipe them at galv and we proceeded to get the perfection achievement. It took as long as it would to lose 3 times in that time frame and we got more honor than losing 3 times in the same timeframe.

if the norm was to get songflower and tubers then hit roc ashran would see a lot more branching in conflict. A full 35v35 at times works only so many different ways with how people position them. Funny how if you ran 4 full raid wipes the bg would be over. Meaning <10 minutes for a game. Instead its a successful zerg or a slow crawl.

AV needs a brawl like warsong. Throw those powerups in the field of strife, as long as the boss is balanced around 2 towers being up, AV highlights wows problem in that they give you a toy which will teleport you to a place which can completely turn the game around, and it is never coordinated.

Epics as a whole are degenerate imo

I don’t really know how to get back to epics of old

Or maybe i’m the one thats old and its me that changed, not epics idk

There are only four epic bgs which may be related to their quick loss of appeal.

Two of them are PvE(Alterac Valley and Ashran)
The other two are Machine v. Wall (Isle of Conquest and Wintegrasp)

No sarcasm, epic BGs are all about who can AFK the most efficiently.

honestly, if Southshore brawl was always up and operated in a Deathmatch style gameplay loop, I’d sit in there all day. Add some weird effects each round, like the Ashran Artifact or Gravity Lapse from EOTS, and I’ll be happy.

I agree, they need to turn into cannon rushing protoss

Pretty easy to break a zerg. You turtle mid and dont let them past.

You can ruin a zerg for your own team as well in AV very easily. So it’s kinda your fault this happened to you. Not trying to be rude, just sayin it how it is.

There’s enough players out there who think it’s all about them. I’m thankful I don’t think like this.

Making the design favour pvp combat is a more realistic answer than relying on someone sabotaging their team’s effort.

They need to add a BG that adds new elements that were released in DF. Add Climbing to the BG. Or a Dog fight 10v10 with Dragon riding!
