I honestly don’t understand why people ruin a good wpvp 5v5 or even like a 5v8 or so and bring a 20+ person raid group (mostly guilds that shall not be mentioned, but any1 with wm on knows who I’m talking about). ED used to be one of the best realms for wpvp and now it becomes a total 40v40 joke that causes the whole zone to lag or an absolute unbalance of 40v5
A lot of it is LFG and cross realmers
People cannot accept and admit loss. Instead groups often resort to blind-premade recruiting thereby ruining any fun and sportsmanly fight. Random-premade raids are not fun.
This has been an issue for ages now.
As far as I’m concerned, you guys are the cross realmers.
Last night in Voldun, there were not one, but two ED zerg guilds with full raids at the assault. Then they linked up into a superzerg.
Maelstrom doesn’t have any zerg guilds, so yes, we called in a cross realm raid. Which, incidentally, wiped the zerg guilds in about 20 seconds, 40v80 or so.
You guys get rid of your zerg guilds, and you won’t see visits from cross realm raids any more. But don’t complain as long as they are around.
wat ppl need to realize is that here on ED u have guilds that love to go out as a guild and do wpvp…. sometimes its a couple of guildies… sometimes its a couple of groups… sometimes its a couple of guilds… this is something that has been happening since I came here 5 or so years ago, and u see it as ppl trying to outnumber opposition, but most of the time its just friends playing with each other having fun…its usually the defender that makes that way, the attackers are just joined up cause that is who is friendly with them that is online… now … with that said… lag pvp is no fun, and I usually will not take part in it less I am extremely bored or a friend is asking for help… so I do wish that once the zone gets laggy ppl would break it up, but its watever…
so wen ur asking guilds not to do this… ur essentially asking them to exclude some of their friends from participating in their event… which wont happen…
now some ppl will have guildies sit out of a fight and watch or switch between groups for fights that are set up… but at the same time, sometimes u just get run over on the way to their destination… or they are a recking a city and ur in it… and then there are guilds that pride themselves n the numbers they can accumulate…
Hmm, I seem to remember PM bringing triple numbers to attack rebel alliance groups when himan was with yall (with many off realm players) week after week till we did a split raid and watched him cry about it on twitch. Funny seeing you all cry about it now.
Now-i am always an advocate to only bring players from your own realm, and never use LFG outside of instances.
Bit back to the original point- completely agree that is BS, i miss fun battles that were even and could go on for hours, but times changed, the pvpbros did win and we all had to adapt-would think someone in your guild would fully know that.

It might not have been fun for you when you were one of the two raids getting wiped. It was plenty of fun for us wiping you.
Seemed like the other way around tbh, 3 alliance 40 mans from my spy addon picking up 120 alliance, get your facts straight or GTFO you “Against Underwhelming Odds” scrub
Sad when a realm is so dead, they cannot even pull a raid together on their own. Resorting to filling RP realms with griefer trash like AK and CL. Pathetic.
Live by the sword.
I agree with Acialga and the nature of the game has changed. The Ashen Vale still loves our small scale but 12v40 gets old fast.
I have nothing against CL and AK. I think they are good folks and even roll with them on occasion. Its mainly calling in the zerg when you have a decent fight that is annoying. Also multiboxers but if Blizz allows it, we can adapt.
LIVE BY THE SWORD!
Actually when we’re not overrun by ED zergs, it’s great. We get the small group combat that the original poster likes.
And if you ever ran with one of those Alliance raids, you’d find they’re in exactly the situation the dwarf death knight describes - a bunch of friends running together. They just happen not all to be from the same realm - which is also true for any combats involving ED zerg guilds in new zones, since you don’t limit yourself to ED targets.
Sounds like you were picking up all the questers who were nowhere near the battle.
Not sure about the zerg guilds. All I feel is, sharding and CRZ need to get gone again. I dislike being put into another shard away from battle, so some idiots from a normal realm can play on our RP shards. (that is the part that pisses me off the most about shards currently)
Also I see the reply from you wasn’t to the comment I thought it was - so sorry if this sounded out of the blue…in fact did not realize I hit post on that one on my phone!
I feel the same way toward idiots from other RP servers. That’s something you folks from ED don’t have to worry about much, since the majority of people in RP war mode are ED. Getting rid of CRZ and sharding would definitely help, but Blizzard is too invested in that to reverse course now.
One of the problems right now is that war mode balancing mechanisms, while they’re working well on Normal shards, are doing the wrong thing on RP shards. The imbalance discourages the Horde solo questers and small groups, leaving Horde world PVP to be dominated by zerg guilds, since the abundance of Alliance questers make it easy for them to find 40v1s and 40v5s.
Unfortunately to fix that they’d probably have to balance Alliance overflow shards - you know, the shards with no Horde at all that you find the first half of the week after reset - with non-RP Horde, who are still in the majority on Normal shards. I’d rather have off realm Horde to fight than no Horde at all to fight.
For once completely agree. Not much they can do.
Cept with no realm priority in shards, we never see people from Emerald Dream, instead I see Dalaran, Argent Dawn(man they whine about dying) and kirin tor the most, even if we are all at the same spot. (lately had to form a group, dump the group, reform it a few times just to get the guildmates into the same shard for our RP-WPVP campaign, which seriously added some gas to my rage. )
I really think a priority system could be worked out. Something like:
- People in the same guild
- People on the same realm
- People on the same server type
- Other war mode people
The difficult details would involve doing this while trying to maintain faction balance and keeping groups and raids together. I need to find some time to work it out and make a suggestion.
You say this like I was there or know what the **** you’re talking about.
You better make some more friends then.
