Did you do this quest the first time you played? I did, then was mortified to find out he was tricking me (many many years ago). My brother said “didn’t the big red guy not tip you off…I avoided that quest”. If I start a new toon I absolutely do the quest, but wondering if there are people like my brother who avoid it. I know we have to “redeem” our self in a subsequent quest…not sure though if it has any bearing on early game play.
I did. I don’t tend to think too much ahead about quests, especially the first time around. I mostly just go where the ride takes me.
Though, on a more general note, I do get annoyed when games railroad you into doing something obviously stupid and then have the bad guy mock you about it. I wasn’t being stupid; I just literally couldn’t progress without doing it.
I don’t know if I remember which quest that is, but I do agree with the sentiment here.
My first character was a priest, which you may know get Xal’atath as an artifact weapon in legion (which I’ve never played very far into). Fast forward to me playing this shaman in BfA. I literally didn’t think anything of it when I started helping her. Wasn’t really until the last quest where we actually go free N’zoth that I was like “wait what”
Imagine doing this questlines on a priest, scratching your head on why this thing is just randomly lying around in the middle of nowhere when you recall having it in the bank, and then scratching your head at why you would be doing anything the Blade of the Black Empire says when you’ve read it’s entire history in your class hall.
