and dps levels are directly related to ilevel.
sure there was that one spriest would took down zekvir ?? at like 580 or something.
not sure if it was due to spec gimmick, player skill, luck, or some combination of all of them.
but in the end, if you are doing the mechanics properly but are falling behind on the eggs, not surviving damage intake, or something similar, then your answer is likely that you need better gear.
Earlier in the thread, ellipsis linked a naked priest run.
But yeah, i agree. I don’t want to say that gear doesn’t matter at all, I just want to temper the expectation that gear will fix it – most of the time with my friends it has been the case that they thought they had mechanics down but really there was still room to improve somewhere, even as much as they had visibly improved.
Taking breaks is still good though, fresh perspective and an untensed brain can be key.
when i was struggling with zekvir? at 600 ilevel on this toon as guardian, i eventually got him down with a combincation of the following:
-ilevel 605
-brann ~32
-the two key curios at 4/4
-significant finetuning of my build and hero talents.
even at ilevel 613, ?? feels out of reach and my brann is ~42 now. as guardian i don’t do enough dps to get the eggs fast enough and i suck at druid dps specs.
i havent tried him in a while. maybe I will again after vault and crest upgrades this week.
good luck.

Best of luck! It’s a lot of work, but I absolutely believe you can do it. =D

Also Stamina which is going to be what determines how hard you can get hit by Zek.

yeah, i am not sure how tank scaling works with zek, but i am knocking on 9mm HP and he hits h.a.r.d.
like eveyrthing, just keep plugging and eventually get there. we have all season, right? lol
I heard if you buy the $90 mount it comes with a free clear of zekvir ?? built into one of the saddle bags

It’s a marathon not a race.
Save a cd for the egg.
If you really don’t need one you can pop them on Zekvir but killing him faster doesn’t matter if you can’t kill the egg in time.
Use cleanse abilities to clear spittle.
They said they fixed the whole spittle + self healing interrupt timing thing? But I think that only happens if you interrupt IMMEDIATELY, I usually let him cast a bit before I interrupt his healing to squeeze more damage in. Then cleanse it with a cd or movement.
Save burst movement for claw smash.
Zekvir loves to hide animations. I’ve seen him hide the cone for his claw smash right after casting another ability so having your fastest movement ability on standby is a must have.
Once you reach 60% the fight honestly gets easier. The only real thing to watch out for are the orbs that shoot out from the fear attack and the web shots portals.
If you’re in the 2nd phase, and Zekvir uses his web shot attack, just run away. The trajectory is so random and the damage is a one shot kill so it’s not worth any uptime.
The fight is buggy as hell so the retries until you get perfect rng is sadly a reality.
lmao.

I don’t really recall bugs other than Zekvir sometimes fearing Brann out and chasing him when I’m divine shielded so the fight resets. What have you run into? Might be useful to know for friends who get frustrated.
I’m gonna add to this, since you forgot to mention why we drop Demonic Circle in the first place.
Circle dispels Enfeeblement Spittle, because the debuff is also a snare, as it reduces your movement speed. Same is true for the poison from the last boss of Ara-Kara and the web circles from Ovi’nax.
As someone who killed it on Destro, I can also say that some pulls are gonna be unfair, like if he does Fear aoe into frontal cone, you just can’t escape in time. I feel like once he phases at 60%, he gets slightly easier because his annoying spells are queued in-between Unending Spikes, so he’s actually giving you more time to deal with them.
Other than that, Okogo is absolutely correct. I did everything he said when I got my kill on it. Just keep pulling the boss and staying hard focused. Get distracted even once, and he will wreck you.

Is there a way to target curios? The 2 I used were 1/4’s
you mean to purposefully farm them? i don’t think so. they seemed pretty rng to me. i just kept running D8s until i got them.
the ones i used for ? were:
combat: idol of iron will (the arrow)
utility: amorphous relic
i will say that the very first run i did with a 4/4/ idol was a kill
I just logged in to check (haven’t bothered with Zek in over 2 weeks lol).
Brann: 27
Porcelain Arrowhead Idol (1/4)
Amorphous Relic (1/4)
I think my biggest issue is Branns level. With this character I can consistently get him to phase 2, but something always goes sideways (usually it’s a crit from auto attack that does me in).
As you can see from Branns level, running Delves isn’t really my thing so “farming 8s” to try to get a 4/4 just seems…exhausting lol
Dont quote me on that, but killing Zekvir ? and the invasion form, probably has a higher chance to drop Curios.
Should give it a shot if you can easily clear Zek ?, so maybe from looting him you get enough.
Also, with the current XP buffs, Brann is getting 52250 XP instead of the 45000 if you complete a T8.
Do the amount needed for the vault for the week (4 will do), and you will get some levels fast. I cleared my Zekvir ?? with Brann on 37, I would recommend pushing him past 30 at least, tho.
There was a bug with curios week 1 where as soon as you saw zekvir they no longer dropped. They just come from bountiful key delve chests with relatively high frequency.
As you brann is level 27 my guess is you just haven’t done delves since that week.
Well i skipped the first few weeks, only really doing them to prove they werent all that difficult.
Ive run a few bountifuls in hopes of getting a few of the 4/4 curios but nada. I mean i do have a few that are rank 4, but not the ones i want. And the times i tried to “farm” them, didnt get any to drop haha
You can’t farm them. It’s just a high chance of getting a 4/4 you don’t already have each time you open a locked bountiful chest.

My biggest epiphany after grinding ?? for like 6 hours was that his enfeebling spittle is a slow. If you have any slow cleanse (freedom, tigers lust, druid shifting) it dispels it. So really you just need to focus on kicking his heal, save burst for eggs, stay relatively high hp so you don’t get crit meleed, and dodge mechanics.
EZPZ…
Brann is nearly useless on Zekvir except for his curios and some mild damage or dispels that are nice but you can’t count on. Level shouldn’t matter. The low curios might.
