The autoattack stuff is nuts. I lost a few good runs in plate to double or triple autoattack crits. It needs to be uncrittable at least, maybe normalized a bit for cloth and leather too.
Ret feels like the fight was made for it for the most part. As hard as it was and as proud of myself as I am, I feel like most other classes I tried this on, I wouldn’t have succeeded.
Zekvir sometimes still auto attacks for 3.5 M or even 4 M so i dont know how some meele dps survive this. At least as ww monk he hits me for that amount.
Maybe as ret paladins or warriors is easier or tuned to not hit them for that amount of damage.
Blizzard needs to address this fight again. It got many issues and it is not skill issue like many surely will say like always.
What’s your item level? The fight is tuned for 620ish
This is one of the annoyance’s about this fight - cause it seems like some specs have it much easier than other specs.
Like paladin and DK just vibe. I’ve seen evokers and shadow priests do well too. And I know a hunter or two to do well. But other classes don’t seem to have it super straight forward.

1: play felhunter, kick heal.
2: make sure you have the talent that allows demonic teleport to always behave as if soulburned, use this to remove the spittle debuff when it is applied.
3: Stay in melee range of zekvir the whole time, running out for the fears and then straight back.
4: HEALER BRANN. The potions give you a big heal and a large HoT so try to stagger them to extend the duration of the buff.
5: The eggs spawn every 30 seconds, have a plan for them. What cooldowns / resources are you going to keep available for each one.
Curios: Amorphous Relic and Porcelain arrowhead.
Should be doable on lock around 605 ilvl, probably lower if you are exceptionally skilled. The only thing that matters is killing the eggs before they hatch every 30 seconds, so if you plan your resources / cooldowns around that the rest of the fight can last 20 minutes and it’ll still eventually die.

Out of the 3 Warlock specs, I have found Destro to be the best for Zekvir ??. Here are my tips, I got him to 30% but didnt clear yet:
- GrimSac Felhound. You will use that interrupt for the Regen.
- Keep Circle near entrance/middle of the room. That way when you move around, you will always have range to teleport.
- DO NOT KITE. It is easier to dodge his AoEs in Melee Range.
- Brann Pots have a stacking Heal Over Time effect. Eat 2 of them and you can hold Zekvir auto attacks, take the 3rd before the Regen falls off.
- HARD SWAP to Coccoon. Put Havoc on Zekvir, swap to Coccoon and use EVERYTHING you got on it. If the Spider hatches, you are dead, period. You can outrange her cast and force her to move, but that is inconsistent.
- BRANN DISPELS ARE INCONSISTENT. Unless you are using a Weak Aura to keep track of it, dont bother, use your Teleport everytime to cleanse the DoT. It will drift in GCD the longer the fight goes, but its doable.
- Use Diabolist as Destro, get the talent that increases your Dark Pact Shield. It makes your survivability much easier.
- As Relics, the best ones are the Amorphous as Utility and the Combat one, the Light Infused one that heals you when you use a Defensive. Paired with the above and Dark Pact? Excellent sustain against Autos.
After that, just learn how to dodge everything and you will be fine, the hardest part of the fight is the swap to the add.

Cocoon is absolutely doable at that ilvl, you just have to have a plan for what resources / cooldowns you’re going to save for each one. Stagger your cds out instead of stack them and make sure you go into each phase egg spawn with resources.

I’m soaking up all these Zekvir posts and still not attempting it myself because I want to be as overgeared as possible. I lack skill so I need the gear crutch to do what others can do 20 ilvls lower.

At the end of the day the 1 shots are still 1 shots. All gear does is make the fight shorter past a certain point. You’re completely fine to go as is.

Which - most of everything (the fear, the frontals, etc) are one-shots. I very much had to throw my face at it several times to figure out the timing of everything and get practice.
Once I learned the dance - it was ez pz - Zakvir EVEN got a heal off on the attempt that I got the kill - once you know the in’s and out’s of the fight and how to adapt to the pesky rng and the timing of certain overlaps - the fight is as good as done.

It’s not his mechanics that I’m having issue with, it’s his auto attacks; cocoons I burst down with like 3-4 chaos bolts they are a non-issue to me, the issues always come down to auto attacks.
His whit damage is nuts considering he already has a whole arsenal of fight enders so why he needs nuclear auto attack crits on top of it all just boggles the mind. You know some of us aren’t rocking plate, right Blizzard?

I totally get it and no judgment! I pushed myself not to do that this time because two of my close friends IRL are huge Elden Ring fans and I wanted to show them this achievement, and I was worried if I waited too long I might lose my chance. (They were very tickled I spent so much effort just to show them a now-old meme. ^.^)
That said, I absolutely want to back up what hpellipsis is saying: zekvir hard mode is almost entirely a mechanic fight and gear won’t really help much once you can survive autoattack and kill cocoons.

As Warlock and ilvl.607, the Autos never really bothered me. You can manage that with management of Brann pots and a Mortal Coil here and there. Out of my, probably getting close to 100 wipes to him, Auto attacks never were the reason of my death.
So, I dunno what to tell you! Personally, I would be happy if the Coccoon life was smaller. That is my personal gripe with it, I need to toss 4-6 Chaos Bolts into it and probably use some of the Execute spell that I forgot the name.
From what I’ve seen his white hits seem to be scaled depending on class. I wasn’t having any trouble as priest even. Advice again would be to cycle between defensive CDs and trying to extend the hot from the potions by staggering them to get maximum healing.

You know, given how effortlessly you seemed to complete this challenge shortly after I saw you learn about it in chat, it makes me feel a little better that we actually had comparable numbers of attempts. I definitely feel like the class dunce when it comes to execution in this game, haha.

That’s what I touched upon, you can’t rely on Brann, Brann does what he wants when he wants and even on the off chance when he does what you need him to, he will launch his potion clear across to the other side of the room instead of right next you.
as it stands, for some classes its pure RNG whether or not Zekvir doesn’t auto attack you to death or Brann will actually do his job.
The cocoon life / kill time already means you need half the damage you did pre nerf. I know the concept of a DPS check / allocating resources isn’t something most solo players have come across yet but it’s pretty commonplace is the rest of the game and adds a dimension to a solo challenge that isn’t just dodging frontals.
Yeah, the gear will help me get through it faster and reduce the window for me to mess up and eat anything that isn’t an autoattack.
Even with the cocoons being nerfed, I’m over here still thinking I’ll be spending so much time dancing around that I won’t be able to manage the ~400k DPS requirement to kill them in time. Definitely getting inside my own head about it, but I’m also easily demoralized when I fail at something over and over so I coddle myself as much as possible.

I havent cleared ?? yet.
But the rest of Delve content has been fun to tackle.
I really struggle with the Coccoon, the moment the fight goes a little south, it turns into survival frenzy and it almost never is salvaged. LOL
