A one shot cone when trying to kill the egg.
A must get dot that deletes your HP cause you HAVE to kick his self heal.
Random crit dmg from his already overtuned Auto Attacks.
This fight is just awful.

Some classes and speca certainly have it easier than others.
I had to switch and learn WW monk from MW because I didn’t have the DPS for those eggs as a healer.
Kick the healing spell.
Save your bursts for the eggs.
Don’t waste your mobility when you can walk.
Watch for the healing pot locations.
Phase 2 is easier because of the added mechanic. He’s sending out fewer auto attacks and fewer eggs. Just dodge and you’ll eventually down him.
Fight is a skill check, but definitely more of a skill check for some classes and specs than others due to the nature of different classes being different.
Get brann to 60. Get your gear over 610. Learn the boss skills. Blow him up.
As a rogue, this fight was frustrating but mostly due to Brann. Improving my macros for shadowstep and kick it made the fight so much easier. Then messing with talents allowed me to get the right right damage profile for eggs on Outlaw. Probably worse now that it’s going to be grappling hook instead, but Outlaw is also in a better place than when I did it at 610ish ilvl. Brann is the wildcard that resets runs randomly by getting feared out. He ruined an attempt at 18% for me. Super frustrating.
Honestly its just not good design for a challenge. Most attempts I walked away not feeling like I had learned much.
Contrast that with the Tank or Healer mage tower, which pushed players to focus on multiple threats and use uncommon parts of their entire kit to solve problems. Every attempt felt like you were learning. Zekvir just doesn’t even come close. And I’m not saying everything needs to be mage tower level, but its hard to not draw a comparison.
Brann’s AI is what make the fight terrible imo, if it works good then it can be fun but when it doesn’t it’s a mess
At least when I did MT as a healer there was consistency. Zekvir… Not so much and some specs are dependent on the AI to play ball more than others
Yeah he definitely wasn’t fun. I honestly felt the only reason I downed him on ?? (enhancement shaman) was because I threw myself at him so many times that he became predictable. I think that’s the point? Idk.
But yeah, I can probably kill him now much easier because he has a rhythm to him and once you find an answer in your toolkit to deal with each of his specific mechanics, it’s just about getting that perfect run. Like here’s how I kind of broke down his fight as an enhancement shaman.
Then just dodging everything else obviously and repeating the process.
Abilities that get rid of slows remove the dot
Great thing i have that as a Rogue aint it?
Some classes just have it easier. It’s not impossible for rogues. I suggest looking up if there are any uploads on YouTube for guides.
It can be a bit rng and Bran and the companion AI needs a bit of work, but it is a pretty fun heart pounding fight to me at least.
The one and only thing that pisses me off about zekvir is if you play melee class the DPS check mechanic is an incredible unnecessary PITA.
If he tosses his egg in some tiny little cubby in the corner you have to squeeze yourself into said corner which often bugs the camera with the added bonus of causing him to either -
A. Begin to cast his self heal meaning you have to then run all the way back across the room to interrupt cost you up time on the egg.
or B he layers all 3 of his one shot mechanics, cone/frontal/AoE on top of the egg force you to move out and stand around like a tool waiting which means you just missed your DPS window and now the spider just popped so you may as well reset the encounter.
Oh and if at any point he puts the egg on top of that little staircase platform in his room, just reset the fight if you are melee because not only will your character just get hung up on the sides forcing you to take the middle stairs which costs you time, it just causes zekvir to, once again, layer his 3 one shot mechanics on the egg.
Vanish. lol. It’s easy as a rogue outside of Brann ruining some attempts.
Doesn’t killing spree do it too, just gotta be a little careful?
Cloak of shadow and isn’t there a talent that makes Sprint remove slows
Yeah, and cloak of shadows. There’s options out there, rogue isn’t hurting on this challenge.
The one I think that has it worst is evoker, only being able to cleanse every minute with scalecommander dragon breath so needing to rely on brann’s dispel.
They do also have the most healing burst damage though so maybe it’s just better to do it as pres for them.
Both 2 min CDs.
While we have negative self healing, having to rely entirely on Brann, so risking him dying due to Vanish is a real issue.
And thats without counting emergencies due to RNG, like him casting the fear on top of the egg thats in the freaking wall of the room.
Maybe I was unlucky for 100+ attempts but I just did it in tww prepatch on hpal and still vividly remember the wave 4 assassins having different timing on their AOE almost every pull. Eventually I could recognize which timings were doable and wipe faster but had to get lucky personally
