True. Those things didnāt reshape the community and make it more toxic. M+ has much to answer for.
But itās that very fact that there were SEVEN different versions of the mage tower that made it so great. It wasnāt perfect, there were better specs for some versions than others, but as a whole what was offered was better than this. One version for everyone that is both not entirely scaled well for all specs and more RNG dependant, imo.
My best at 17% (on ??). Gonna wait till I get more gear. I died to a melee crit that hit me for 4.1 mill so my last run was just sad rng
Zekvir is more fun than regular delves.
I done mine on my monk at 615 iLVL.
The trick is knowing that the frontal comes in two waves and the second is a shorter cast, then you go kill the spider. Using Brann as a healer also helps, you just collect the potions to keep yourself alive.
Using Brann as a healer also helps that he dispels one Spittle and you can Tigerās Lust the next one.
And in P2, itās basically just frontals, AOE with orbs, and ground effects you have to dodge. Once you get to P2 itās just a matter of doing the choreography.
This fight is not RNG dependant though. Yes some specs have it easier, and hopefully they tune it a little better for some classes, but itās not RNG aside from where the spiders spawn.

The fight is absolutely RNG dependent.
Zekvir crits you twice in a row, you die.
The RNG factor exists, but itās not enough that it makes skill irrelevant.
Avoid and hopefully get good RnG.
now to get the gear to qualify for ?? difficulty and hope Brann doesnāt decide to watch me die
Heās super RNG dependent. Especially with Brannās tendency to justā¦ not use his CDās.
Think Spriest can do ?? on absurdly low gear.
In order to unlock the ability to do ?? I need to finish a tier ten I think it was which means I need somewhere in the 600s if not maybe 615+ item level so nah I will work my way up to biting the bugās ankles off lol
Idk I took him down in less than an hour solo.
Blizzard over nerfed him, made it face roll. Itās literally dodging a few frontals, killing an add, and interrupting.
Mage tower was 10x more challenging and engaging
Feels much more doable post nerf, and Iām not a good player. Persistence and patience were key for me. (Talking ? Not the hard mode)
i think some people in this thread got it confused. zekvir that you go to fight in zekvirās lair and rando zekvir that just shows up in a delve are 2 totally different zekvirās. difficulty wise.
zekvir in his lair will eat you unless you are semi decent player and can avoid mechanics, know how to switch targets to kill web while still being able to retarget zekvir when he casts his heal all the while avoid slams and getting 1 shot.
zekvir that randomly shows up in a delve you can afk auto attack kill while taking out the garbage for mother.

The first tier is easy. The 2nd tier is hard. I found it abit buggy with the claw smash sometimes not telegraphing properly and sometimes the cast on it because 1 second for some reason.
