It’s def not Frost Mage lol
That is quite surprising.
I’d say mobility since you have Brann with you. The only issue with him is he loves to stand in crap and die.
Either way I haven’t found the need to heal that often but having the mobility to deal with his interrupt, killing the cocoons and avoiding the frontals when RNG doesn’t go your way is huge.
Shadow is far easier than both, I implore you to look past the standard solo content biases towards the spec. You do not need the mobility if you’re able to 100-0 an egg using instants and cast while moving spells without ever leaving the boss’s hitbox.
You use the same sequence of spells for every single egg,
Pets being one shotted is very obvious hard codded into this to screw with those classes or specs. There’s literally no reason for Zekvir to one shot pets but he does it regardless of any defensive CDs used. The reason clearly being they did it on purpose.
Yes, it makes sense not to want pet classes to be able to tank the boss 40+ yards from themselves and avoid mechanics. However having the pet die instantly / boss damage scale based on if you have a pet alive or not is silly.
I couldn’t do it with my prot warrior. Just wasn’t putting out the DPS to get the add down in time, but I did it when I switched to Arms with Slayer and healer Brann. Relentless Pursuit in the Slayer tree was a must to negate the spittle snares. Avatar and Bladestorm were good backups for spittle dot as well.
Took probably three dozen attempts to get his patterns down and some decent RNG with his abilities, but this was Arms in Prot gear with only 2/4 tier. Was 613 though which probably helped a bunch too.
thanks for this, im going to do shadow priest next week with wrath timewalking and get him to 600 to do ??
600 should be comfortable, honestly less would be fine too. I did write a full guide for it as well from Shadow PoV.
It’s mostly generic stuff but there’s a few Shadow specific things here and there like the rotation for egg spawns and talent build.
wow that is a VERY thorough guide thanks for writing it
shadow priest probably.
I think I can do this naked. (No armour pieces, just jewellery weapons and trinkets)
3mil isn’t a lot of HP to work with, but 37k spellpower is enough to kill every egg.
I did it on frost mage yesterday 607 ilvl. Its really not bad more than half my deaths were terrible camera or environment, that room sucks and like the other 40% was bad rng getting eggs down and 10 percent just learning and getting the flow down. We dont have that much dps cooldowns to rotate with how often eggs come up and if an egg came up with nothing but my big icicle cast and i didn’t get some good crits or i had to spend too much time running from fear and smash id fall short and it would be an issue. When i killed him i actually didn’t get an egg in time but i salvaged with dragon breath thankfully. Many are doing arcane but for me arcane wasnt consistent enough on the eggs a more geared and optimized arcane mage would probably have a better time, for me frost was better because a lot of their burst for the egg can be dropped while moving.
I did it as ret at 600 ilv, but that’s mostly because im me
does Zekvir not one shot you like… 1 in 20 chance (whatever to be crit?)
do those free action potions still exist?
oh nevermind. doesnt work above level 50
Not quite (Clothies have different melee scaling) but it’s still extremely close.
It took 17 minutes start to finish not missing a single kick, but I killed it with no armour at all. 37647 int (+3820 int from gale), 20k total secondaries. And 2.95 mil hp.
Level 46 healer brann. Amorphous and Porcelain arrow.
I got pretty close on my 596 Shadow Priest. It’s a huge step up from the ? Difficulty though. Hoping to get more reps in today.
I’m also running 80% PvP gear so I basically have a 20% wall up at all times.
Stick close to the boss, play voidweaver, and swap to every egg with crash DP torrent DP Blast Blast then whatever to get it into death range. Shouldn’t need cds for eggs. Best of luck!
The hardest thing about this fight to me is the unfair rate of melee hits, crits, and mechanic overlap on top of hoping there’s a heal pot on the ground to heal through it. The melee can just potentially end any ?? run if you’re unlucky.
