Zekvir ? before Season Ends

At 636 ilvl that’s surprising.

Raid build or something specific?

https://youtu.be/n7bA5jHmOWA?si=wjY9LaKN7BNs8DXN maybe this has some useful info.

I got him. Just forgot to swap out Brann’s relics. :joy:

(Also, the Monk tree is so bad there’s literally nothing else I can take to do more damage. Except the stupid ox pet, which would do 1.6 million damage over 30 seconds to the egg, which has 10m health. Every 3 minutes. )

If Brann is dying in P1, that really shouldn’t be happening. You should have aggro on Zek, and Brann doesn’t really take damage from Claw Smash or anything else.

If Brann is dying in P2, YOU shouldn’t be taking much damage. Yes, you’ll probably take a tick of spittle here and there, and you’ll get an incidental melee attack from Zek periodically, but there is no melee phase where you’re taking consistent damage. I haven’t played Sentinel, but as Dark Ranger, you have enough self-healing to survive Brann’s unconscious spells in P2.

I just got him down last night!

For quite a while in P2 I was confused by the portals and the orbs that shoot out on the Infinite horror. I read that orbs appear around him and then shoot out and not noticing the actual orbs I was thinking that the orbs shot out from where the portals had been placed. Eventually I noticed the actual orbs and they were pretty easy to dodge after that.

It also helped me to pull up youtube videos and listen to them while I did the encounter. It may sound counterintuitive, but I found if I focused too hard on what I was doing it would cause me to miss things or get distracted by some mechanics while missing others. It’s probably different for different people. but this helped me to stay relaxed and focus enough that I wouldn’t get too distracted by all that is going on.

Oh I didn’t know that I have up to March 3rd. I still have a chance.

Patch 11.1 starts on Feb 25. I would get a new version of MM. I could use that new MM to complete “Let Me Solo Him” Void appearance on Delver’s Dirigible since the Achievement says : Defeat Zekvir in his lair on Tier ?? without any other players in your party, before the release of the next season of delves. And Season 2 starts on March 4th.

I think MM would be OP on Patch 11.1. It’s okay then for me to fail with this old MM specs.

Just a word of warning, that’s all:

RNG is not your friend, especially in this fight.

I cant offer new advice for the fight that hasnt been said a million times, but I can say that when the fight really started to click for me was when I COMPLETELY stopped paying attention to Zek’s health.

I set aside some nice chunks of time (with breaks, trust me dont go nuts) and threw myself at the fight and started to get the flow. Stop paying attention to Zek, fight can go as long as you want. Wiggle your toes, roll those shoulders and try to relax and get a rhythm going. He sucks but youll get a pull with good rng and youll be in the zone.

I believe in everyone out there thats trying this right now.

It’s a fight of PERFECTION and getting LUCKY for around 7 minutes. My best is at 4:30 then I messed up followed by UNLUCKY scenarios all on phase 2. Phase 1 is more forgiving… you can get unlucky and still recover. On Phase2, no mistakes is allowed so that if you get unlucky, you could still handle it.

I am still enjoying my attempts. Nothing on WoW is being done on me except this Zekvir?? fight. Log in… Make attempts … logout. Rinse and Repeat. ROFL. Hope my muscle memory improves further on phase 2. I think I got phase 1 in control. Kind of. ROFL.

I believe you can do it!

Those mistakes I talked about? Phase 2.

EDIT: I survived that fear by hitting Survival of the Fittest right before it went off (my Turtle was on CD), and I used the health potions to survive the few spittle ticks until I was in a good position to hit Disengage.

Luck definitely plays a small factor, as does RNG.

It’s not purely muscle memory (although it is a big part), but also able to react quickly and use your defensives at the right moment.

(And, I’ve noticed that the infinite horror seems to be bugged. I got hit by it about 7 times in my attempts and half of those times, the fear lasted until I’m dead while the other half of those times, the fear dropped once I got hit by a melee by him. :woman_shrugging:t3:)

That’s why some posts to use PvP trinket on this fight. Something that removes all movement impairing effects and all effects which cause loss of control of your character.

I somewhat felt bad becoz long time ago when I was hardcore, PvP gear and PvP is part of playing WoW and I did use PvP trinket many times on PvE just to counter some fight mechanics. And now as Casual, I got rid of everything PvP.

Ooh… since we are on that subject, just curious, let me look at PvP abilities that could be used on Zekvir?? fight.

Ooh… is there a bad impact if I use Warmode On on this fight?

Trueshot Mastery (Passive)
- reduces cooldown of trueshot by 20 sec and trueshot also retores 100% focus.

Wild Kingdom (Instant)
-Call in help from one of your dismissed Cunning Pets for 10 sec. This is to use Cunning Pet’s Master’s Call to me

*Interlope (Passive) *
-Misdirection now causes next 3 hostile spells cast on your target within 10 sec to be redirected to your pet.

I could Macro:
cast Wild Kingdom
Master’s Call on me
cast Misdirection to Pet with Interlope on him until he gets one shot’d.

or
Sniper Shot (40 focus with 2.5 see cast time)
Take a Sniper’s stance, firing a well-aimed shot dealing 15% of the target’s maximum health in physical damage

I’m pretty sure pvp talents won’t work here. I never tried it though. Easy to test.

Yup, I just tested it. :frowning:
It doesnt work. Blizz doesnt want me to cheat. LOL. But I made Zekvir to 30% hp on that last attempt.

Oh well. I need to go back to my RL work. LOL.

If you can get that far, you’ve got it. You just need to relax and concentrate until his hp reaches 0.

Yup, I got 30% twice out of many attempts. It’s a breakthrough though. But it’s not consistent yet.

Zekvir fight is designed to trick us to fail.

  • look at the cocoon, so small and it’s covered by Zekvir’s HUGE BODY since he is always coming to our face, covering what we see.
  • You cant go range for long to be able to see clearly or his Cone attack would get you. You need to be near to easily dodge the cone but you cant go melee or he would pwn you on 3 slaps.
  • His Healing needs to be Interrupted. The special effect of him healing is Green in Color similar to Spittle Casting special effect… same green. You have to see the Cross + in the effect. If you are fooled to interrupt his Spittle instead of Heals, the game extends 2 to 3 min. ROFL.
  • Tab targeting is common for us to switch targets. And Brann’s Egg is a dummy target and it could fool us to hit it. Imagine, you are focusing to kill the cocoon, then suddenly Zekvir heals, so you switch target by tabbing. If you don’t verify your target, you could hit Brann’s Dinosaur Egg with your interrupt. If you verified your target is Zekvir, you could throw correctly the interrupt then you tab target again to switch back to cocoon. If you throw a heavy damage ability and you found out it’s Brann’s egg, you wasted that ability and you may fail to kill the cocoon on time.

So you have to be perfect and precise on fight mechanics for full 7 minutes without being fooled by the tricks given by the game mechanics.

I just laugh at it. And as of now, I am still not perfect. I always ended up being fooled over and over. At least, I can manage to beat phase 1 more consistently. Kind of. ROFL.

I think you could macro your interrupt to only hit Zekvir and macro some of your heavy damaging abilities to only hit Zekvir… but that’s cheating. I don’t like using cheating addons on this fight. Addons and Macro makes the fight like a script. It’s boring to me. I just enjoy the game and deal its fight mechanics as is. I am still having fun so far.

I’d recommend angling your camera so that you’re looking down from above. Not completely vertical, but if you’re looking from ground-level, you’ll have a hard time seeing.

Yes, you should be in melee range. There is no need to try to avoid his melee attacks, especially in phase 2. Trying to kite him will cause you all sorts of problems.

Put him as your focus target, so you always know exactly where to look to see his cast bar so you can see exactly what he’s casting. I’m pretty sure this is not intended to be tricky.

I don’t think this is cheating. I think I did this on one of my characters. But across all my characters, I have a macro for my interrupt ability. It’s the same keybind on all of them, and the macro will interrupt my target, or if I hold Alt, it will interrupt my Focus. This makes for pretty great muscle memory.

I don’t think mods are cheating, but I do not like them, so I generally don’t use them. But I can’t see how you’d consider macros cheating. They are a part of the game - built in. They have very specific functionality that prevents them from doing bad things. I think you are really handicapping yourself by insisting on navigating graphical clutter for core game mechanics.

I need a break.

I made 30x attempts… 13x made to phase 2 but I was able to put him down to 30% once. Brann keep on dying. I can survive while Brann is dead but I was always late on killing the cocoon. I could have killed it if I attacked very early. Then I went on break.

Then I went for 10x more attempts, 9x out of 10 made to phase 2 but I can only put him down to 40%. Not progressing. Something is killing me that I cant see. Camera problem? It’s not the cocoon/spider. Something else… not the poop. Those Orbs, I cant see them clearly on my camera angle.

The orbs got me a lot at first, until I just had to steel myself when the fear was going out to pay attention to the orbs. However, sometimes he’ll do the anglers web and those portals don’t disappear when the orb portals show up, so you’re contending with 8 portals, 4 of which shoot orbs.

I could only get him to 50% health. So I got into a group and spanked him.

Not worth slamming your head into a wall over and over again.

Do you have a ret that’s anywhere close to the level? It’s trivial if so :+1:
