Zaralek Caverns Cosmetics Unfarmable

Like most farmable things over the years. Give it 2 expansions…

I know you’re being sarcastic but I still felt this needed further emphasis. The fact that the rares are now tied to:

  1. How many players? are in the zone and for how long.
  2. The rares despawning after 15min.
  3. The spawn times are still tied to which WQs are up but nobody knows what the actual quadrants are triggering which spawns.
  4. The off-quadrant rares have a 4-5 day lockout, but the on-quadrant rares have no lockout. Good luck figuring out which is which.

Means that:

  1. The motivation to to visit ZC has evaporated since you can no longer hope that a random rare may just happen to be up so you get lucky when you enter the zone.
  2. The hilariously complicated quadrant WQ system means nobody understands which rares will be up when and what their lockout actually is.
  3. Next expac there will be even less people in the zone thus reducing the chances of a rare spawn even more.
  4. Nobody knows the spawn timers even if a rares prerequisites are met.

Conclusion:
I have never seen a zone with such a complex spawn system. Literally no other zone in the entire game has such strings and caveats tied to their rare spawns. So all this means ZC rares are now the hardest rares to find in the entire game. Far harder than TLPD for example. TLPD only has 2 very simple spawn modifiers for example. Whereas all the ZC rares now have at least 4. And the ZC spawn modifiers are lot more opaque than TLPD’s.

The state of ZC for rares is officially the worst in the entire game. No other zone comes close. That’s not hyperbole, that is fact.

What a shemozle.

The strange part of the timing of the change is that the “map is covered in rares” issue was about to solve itself now that we have 10.2 gear.

I am currently in Zaralek Caverns. Finally a rare spawned so I went over to fight it. I was halfway done and suddenly I got phased into another phase, causing the rare I was in combat with to disappear from my eyes (a Horde player who was also fighting it disappeared, maybe they were lucky and stayed in that phase). So, not only do the rares take forever to spawn, the stupid phasing system can screw you out of a rare, too.

They said they don’t want people playing in the Zaralek Caverns.

Blizz should of had that in mind before putting it in the damn game and then ruining it further for everyone afterwards.

It happened again! Another freaking rare, halfway through the fight, phased out. What the hell is wrong with this game?

They might as well have just deleted Zaralek Caverns with the latest changes.

I have been farming the Molten Lava Toy since 10.1 dropped. First, Invoq’s loot table was broken, and now, it is almost impossible to catch him. I have also witnessed a variant on the phasing problem where his “A champion emerges on the ancient battlefield” emote was broadcasted, but he never spawned. This is beyond ridiculous. As the OP said, it would be great if the Devs let us play the game.

The only reason I go back to the cavern these days is for the Niffen weekly that gives 200 flightstones.

Funny cuz I flew there last week and saw tons of rares

Camped the zone for 5 hours straight today, waiting on Caldera and Aberrus rares to pop for a chance at a few missing manuscripts.

Not a single rare spawned anywhere in the zone

Again, not a single rare has spawned in 5 hours (and counting).

I’ve camped for the last few days and the results are similar (shorter sessions however).

Oddly enough… I do see some rares in Warmode come and go.

So either I’m constantly being phased around, or the rare timers are broke post-“fix”.

Either way, please look in to this.

Posted a bug report with proof (chat logs showing no rare callouts for several hours, at least). It’s definitely busted.

From the recent Community Council Interview, it sounds like they intend to try and force Dragonflight group content to remain group content during War Within.

I don’t see how they will, given that people aren’t doing old Dragonflight group content now. ZC rares will probably remain undoable, as will events like The Storm’s Fury.

The changes to ZC have the same energy as

“You think you do, but you don’t.”

and

“Do you guys not have phones?”

This. 100% this.

This topic comes up every day.

Blizzard refuses to fix this zone.

It’s a travesty how Emerald Dream is not only easier than Z Caverns, but the players are there as well.

I hate Z Caverns. I hate how Blizzard abandoned it due to stubbornness.

Yep, devs thought it’ll be better if no one was able to get to the rares at all by putting a 15 minute despawn timer on them when they spawned.

It from all rares being up to none.

Reason for the despawn timer.

Refusing to nerf health points instead.

Heaven forbid we get those manuscripts, toys, mogs and pets, can’t put together a group in 15 minutes or get there in time, too bad rare despawns.

This remains the case, BTW–day before yesterday rares would spawn in a small cluster every 3-4 hours. Today, nothing, after about 5 hours of camping. They utterly killed this zone.

I feel ya bro Zaralek Caverns being designed quite literally for a 5 man for the most part or at the minimum 3 (This was when it ws fresh Not so much now in 10.2 to clarify) But still is quite the Hurdle for a lot of specs and classes. I have 6 tanks 1 of each class and they can handle it fine once i got past 424 before this current patch and it is now a lot easier but most DPS classes doing the elite area still struggle and as for a Healer IDK how hard that is since ive not really healed in my 11 or so years of play time. Took me forever Killing Subterax Rare just for his 2h cosmetic sword far as the other stuff goes I have gotten most if not all the toys etc from Invoq and Dinn. Now whenever I go there you got countless Predictable bots Mining and Herbing on a loop so trying to compete with that is a nightmare and I am on Oceanic I don’t know how bad it would be overseas.

To wrap up far as I have played and done Content wise Dragonflight is very Meh. The Tyr Questline and eventual unlock of those Drake skins was nice But the added way to much Content that was Blase and rehashed. I think 3 or 4 patches basically involved old content coming back in the form of Patterns and Plans and a Rebooted Dungeon from Vanilla. Then we got the most Contraversial Implementation they have ever done and it was done in such a sinister way I am still Seething. I am referring to Tier 3. Why did they put it behind a Locked gate. Why did they then give the key to that gate to Whales who wasted countless Thousands and A lot of there own life the power to control the market on them. I honestly Hate it and I wish they just Complied all Tier 3 Sets ( WHich honestly are very poor compared to Tier 1 and 2 and 4 from vanilla) Into a Cosmetic Set and dump one @ random on the Trading post for a hefty price then add the Traders tendor to the Store that would have been the best option over the crap they excreted. If I wanted to farm them all out I would probably hit 60 or 70 IRL (38 currently) before I would get close if not rip irl trying. Or take out a loan or save up around 7k AUD$ to buy the gold via tokens and porbably add a bit more money there to Realm hop around the world cleaning out every AH until i was done so maybe 10k$ and for what A tier series that was removed from the game for some stupid reason along with the raid. IDK what those idiots were thinking back then. Should have just left it as is started TBC like they did then when they had a chance go back to Vanilla Naxxramas ZA/ZG patch them etc and leave them in Vanilla but nope. Removed them and they got added back in typical Activision fashion smeared in faecal matter and expect us to enjoy it.

Only true Players will agree with most of what I have just said anything outside of that are just the Whiteknight sheeple who’s opinion is laughable to me and always will be.

Zaralek caverns isn’t a zone you’re supposed to go to. Blizzard has made that abundantly clear.
