Zaralek Caverns Blizzard Fix made it Worse

Zaralek Caverns post-“fix” are a barren wasteland. Before Blizzard’s “fix” to reduce players farming rares and to “increase” the pet, toy, mount, xmog drop rates… you could go to any boss and have 20-40 players killing it at ANY TIME OF THE DAY or NIGHT (on higher pop servers being solo was easy while killing a rare). Miss a rare?.. just wait an hour or so while doing other things and the rare you missed would pop up and yeah 20-40 players would be there to kill it. AFTER Blizzard’s “fix” the rare-farm groups are dead because you cannot see the bosses others missed and others cannot see what bosses you missed and there is NO benefit from rekilling a boss so unless you join a group that is 22 seconds old you are out of luck. Just go and show up at a boss? If it is not during the 2-6 hrs of prime time when a lot of players are on and not in raid or m+ etc… well you are lucky to see 2-5 other players at the boss and if you do not have a tank it is often not even doable. Tanks can kill most of the rares solo but that takes 10-15 minutes and is no fun at all. Prime time maybe you see 7-10 people. The Fix is a disaster for rare killing and the fixed drop rates do not look like there has been any change. So me personally I kill 75% less bosses than before the change. What was so wrong with the rare model used in the Forbidden Reach?

the forums cried about it for weeks. scroll back a few pages.

Yeah I read the original complaints but this is worse. Blizzard needs to just fix the drop rates to something resonable and people that do not want to farm rares can just do their one kill per day ( as long as blizzard fixes the drop rate). A bunch of my friends and I all feel like we would have received the sought items by now if the system had been kept as it was. For some items the drop rate seems to have gotten worse not better with the “fixed” system.

Blizzard spent 3 months creating content players were done with in 2 weeks.
The current development design managers at the company are really bad at their jobs.

players will realize there’s nothing to do and will crawl back with their tails between their legs and do the grinds that the Blizzard employees have lovingly prepared for them.

At least they added world quests dropping 5 drake crests this week in the cavern… well i saw one anyways.

Here’s a WoW tip from a 20 year vet.

When a content patch drops, its got a lifespan of about 2 weeks where it will be busy and you can just go there and join in solo.

2nd week will be less, but still doable.

By the 3rd week, its basically reset day and the weekend.

After this, group tool, or barren wasteland.

We are 7th week of release. No one needs drake crests except your 5th or 6th alts you just got to 70 with the xp buff.

Yeah maybe vaild @Xenna … however we were weeks in and still with 20-40 players at each rare in the caverns UNTIL the “fix”. You could do daily stuff until the boss you wanted spawned because they all spawned at some point. Now you need an addon to see which boss is going to spawn that day especially if you have completed all of the world quests in the zone. Dead dead dead… a totally dead zone post-“fix”. The Forbidden Reach was totally populated all the way until the 10.1 patch.

players complained.

they addressed it.

if you were happy with it, why the complaint? next time… shhhhhh.

I did not complain about the pre-“fix” design. I was happy with the original released ‘design’… so not gonna shhh now lol.

Totally get the impression that blizzard does not do any of the daily grinds. It is do what i say not do as I do. Otherwise they would totally see the new problems and how the fix is worse than pre-“fix”.

I walk into the cavern and all the bosses are up pretty much all the time now because no one’s killing them. And I have no confidence at all that if I run up and smack the boss on the butt, that anyone’s going to join in and help me kill it.
