So… Quick question, i remember back in the day when they released ToT i saw High Priestess Mar’li and i was like, that’s a cool model and then they announced Zandalari trolls and i was like woohoo, surely that will be their model, but i don’t believe they are the same or are they?
The ToT model is unique form of troll. That isn’t used. But you can get it from the transmorpher beacon sometimes.
No one has access to those customization as that’s a unique model made before the recent models got remade in WoD.
The ToT trolls were a case where their armor and features were a permanent part of the model, the playable Zandalari were rebuilt from other playable race models.
Besides the point, but if memory serves, wasn’t Mar’li a Gurubashi troll?

Mar’li was the high priestess of the spider Shadra. Sent by King Rastakhan to Zul’Gurub to stop Hakkar the Soulflayer with the other loa high priests, she was corrupted by the blood god and had to be defeated at the Zandalari’s behest. She somehow returned during the events of Mists of Pandaria as part of the Council of Elders, but was slain at the Throne of Thunder.
At best to help explain the differences, several troll priests tried to band together against the Gurubashi so perhaps it’s vague enough that she is hailed from another temple beside Zandalar.
edit: The other situation is Zanzil trapped the soul into a nearby troll.
