Ythisens, you WILL be missed

How can you sit here and blame the community for the developer’s mistakes? If your read the earnings call at all you will see what a terrible state the whole company is in right now, and you will also realize something that big is out of the community’s hands. This whole debacle rests on the shoulders of the top management team. When you release subpar content, you get subpar numbers to back it up. This whole mess started at the top and landed on the laps of the workers at the bottom, which is rather unfortunate.

Depends on what they’re trying to say. Myself, I’ve been trying to making sure the record is set straight: Activision doesn’t own Blizzard Entertainment, and as such does not have creative control over Blizzard’s games. However, Activision-Blizzard owns Blizzard Entertainment.

Hopefully, as I and so many others have been trying to convey, it’s obvious that we know who to kiss and step around. It’s pretty clear in everything we say that we understand the organizational hierarchy.

On a side note, I have no job with Blizzard to lose.

Record year and yet these people are thrown out to the wolves. Other companies retrain and move people around to keep those loyal to them. You build brand loyalty from within your brand. To lay off so many, then to turn around and claim you are hiring, what an insult. Sacrificing your base for a few dollars.

nah dude its okay, we still have lore. we’re good.

big fat /s

What a sad terrible coward that person that tweeted ythisens that is.

Kind of makes the forums just echo chambers now for us to share ideas and co-miserate.

If a tree falls in the forest …

Slashing CS staff and CMs was the decision from on high. The choice to keep Lore and get rid of Yth was all Blizzard, and it was a poor one.

Blizzard: “We hear you and care for are players.”
fires CMs
adds more store mounts
“We say we do, but we don’t.”

Now this is a layoff I don’t understand. The last thing we need around her is one less active CM. I can understand cutting the unproductive game lines but just not this decision.

RIP Classic WoW communication. I hope this overwhelmingly negative response helps him land a new job soon.

I am also angry about the yak being let go. He was the only real “human” contact this company offered on the forums.

Still, blaming it on people disliking the games, or aspects of the game and complaining here on the forums about it is misguided - its the companies job to create great products and obviously they are failing to do that.

What gets me angry about all this is that they let the virtually innocent support staff go, but kept the folks making game mechanics people are loosing interest in and unsubbing over.

Trying to shift blame for this on to the unhappy players is about the worst bit of blind white knighting I have ever seen.

I mean… it’s a double edged sword. Majority of this forum is just blind rage, ignorance, stupidity and toxicity.

All of the Yaks posts that I can recall in the last 9 months were kinda jokey like he was just a normal poster.

The community turned this forum into a joke a long time ago. It only makes sense that someone who is supposed to primarily work the forums and offer feedback based on the community would be let go when the community only flings poop.

Sure it’s the devs fault for designing a game like this, but it’s generally the community’s , our fault, that ysthisen’s job became expendable.

Aright, this is sad news, but have people seriously forgotten that the CM who communicated with us only responded mostly to joke threads?

Let’s not kid ourselves here - he was no Tseric and wasn’t ever present in real threads where people were looking to CMs for responses. Of course he wasn’t a dev and didn’t have any real clout at changing patch notes, but there seems to be overwhelming support for a CM who didn’t talk about the real issues when the community was mad.

I know other blues were silent, but Ythisens was too, in his own way. Talking about pancakes isn’t really what any of us care about.

Seriously. Can we fire green text players? Now you see how they get that title of MVP.
