These games aren’t a cash cow, they have created so much for so many people and to lose that is… unconceivable. I’m at a loss for words… I just lost another toon to a DDoS and there’s no one from you like there used to be to make sure everything was ok, instantly, comforting, letting me know I was speaking to someone who had been there. I promised a tank they wouldn’t die, yet here we are, the tank died, not because of me, but because of you, I am dead too… and at this point I feel like you’ve killed me too… not just my toon, but inside, my everything i have ever put into this and all other games in the past 25 years you made. I can’t keep doing this… just supporting something I once loved that won’t even give me a glimmer of being something better. I know Hardcore WoW is a hell of a hill to die on, however I don’t see a future anymore. Its over… and as much as I wish there will be a miraculous savior (PLEASE!!!), the failing games around us is proof that the wallet is more important. I pay for time in your game and it simply isn’t respected. There’s so much you can give and yet nothing has happened, If you need 10 years to make a game great then by all means DO IT!!! I will wait Don’t leave me hopeless with what I have now that was once great. I really don’t want it to end, however I wont be abused any further. Guess the wow killer was wow itself.
Just make another toon geez. Stuff like this is expected when you make a character that only has one life. It really does suck and I feel for you, but this post is straight up embarrassing. If you can’t handle the heat, stay out the kitchen!
Think this belongs in the classic hardcore section.
Classic hardcore is merely a means of timewasting. Just make a fresh toon and continue to waste your time
My eyes hurt.
And I don’t even have eyes.
(While I agree it should be in the right section….)
Classic Hardcore players I gotta say are some of the best community I’ve seen ingame. People helping each other and a sense of camaraderie that is different from how it is in retail because the stakes are so high.
I lost two characters in my HC Classic run and the amount of love and support I had within that game was outstanding. Especially when I lost the Priest I had whispers for days, people being like ‘don’t worry this is what we’re about, we go again’.
So I sympathise with you OP, I’m sorry you’ve lost your character. Hope you find the strength to try again!
No, it doesn’t work that way.
Dying on a hardcore character because of a DDoS is simply out of your control 100% of the time. Not 50%, not 75%… Not 99.9%; 100%. This is completely unfair, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Blizzard has shown that they can save Characters who were lost due to the company’s lack of wherewithal. They did it for their special streamer friends. They should do it for every Hardcore Character who gets taken by their bad game design, if they are doing it for some.
I am sorry Blizzard doesn’t treat all its Players Time with the same respect as they do for some fly by night clout chasing streamers.
I’m sorry for your loss.
They did it for all hardcore characters lost due to the DDoS attack that day, not just their streamer friends. Losing a character due to “bad game design” or because a quest spawns 3 level 50 mobs and you’re only level 20 isn’t the same as a DDoS.
Could you all go play on the regular Vanilla Classic server with just an agreement that if you die you would start all over? Then if you had a DDoS you could all just agree to let it go and keep playing.
Oh yeah, because retail isn’t?
This is essentially how they did it before Hardcore was a thing. Worked but self accountability can be a fickle thing because people start making excuses (tho I accept that’s a them problem).
Do you really need a comparison?
It’s a video game.
They are all time-wasters.
Agree to disagree. Video games provide an escape from reality for many and a good detox from stress and I am sure you are aware of this.
But if you’re happy to spend money on timewasting, I am happy for you too.
Made me laugh.
for you!
You hear that? That’s the melody of worlds smallest violin
Ok, this is an absolutely hilarious post…
When you read in in a Jonathan Harris voice from Lost in Space, LOL! It’s just sooooooo over dramatic.
Best post of the week!
ok shoot. how is wasting time in classic any different than wasting time on retail or any other video game / hobby out there?
