As other people have already said, years upon years of horde favoritism by the devs inevitably led to the larger share of players pushing progressing content to migrate to horde. The faction imbalance in nearly every facet of this game is entirely their fault.

The entire Warfront fiasco with blizzard just throwing gear at you regardless of what item level you were (neat how they fixed that in time for Alliance not to benefit from it). And apparently you will now get to just farm ai bots in BG's.

Siege of Orgrimmar, every expansion aside from Cata, you got four shots at 370 gear the first week of mythic raiding, siege of dalazor, thrall stepping down, garrosh becoming a raid boss, voljin dying now sylvanas too. Legion, the new warfront you'll be first, dark iron has more class options than maghar.

You already had your alliance storyline in legion. Next expac will be alliance based.
There's never been a truly Alliance-centered expansion. One where the Alliance does something and the Horde reacts in turn.
At best, we've had a couple of neutral expansions and all the rest have been Horde-centric, where the Horde does something and the Alliance reacts.
The general storyline of this franchise has always centered around who leads the Horde, how they lead the Horde, why the Horde does what it does, and when the Horde might do something so the Alliance can then react to it. Even Legion was the consequence of Horde actions taken in the previous two expansions.
Now, as for jokes at the Alliance's expense. That's fine. I like a good joke. Even this one.
I'm just waiting to see one at the Horde's expense. So far, it's been a long wait.

Zandalari have more class options than Kul'Tirans. SoO...oh look an entire raid built around a horde leader. Thrall stepping down and yet still being shoehorned into the story here and there. Sylvanas....more and more content built around a horde leader. Garrosh drove the entire storyline for MoP.
