Not knowing -at minimum- basic functionality and utility your class/spec offers
Having the mentality that: 1. “It’s just a game so it doesn’t matter.” 2. “You’re just an elitist.” anytime someone has feedback for you.
So, as I said, you’re not bad. If you were bad, you would attempt to get better and contribute to your community so that you and everyone else in the content can succeed and push further.
You are inconsiderate. By that I mean, quite literally, you do not consider the effort and time put in by other players who are working to complete content and systems put in this game; be it pvp or pve.
No one can tell you to do with your time on the game. Its your $15. However, in the same sense we can’t control the idiot screaming on the bus, we don’t have to like them and we do not have to like you.
You can always tell when someone is affected by something someone says. Instead of being mature and discussing their feelings, they deflect and attack character instead of the problem. That is immaturity.
Problem is, simply reading a strat or watching a video isnt enough for everyone.
There are several distinct types of learning styles - visual, auditory, reading/writing, kinesthetic. The first type can watch a video of an encounter and get a relatively good grasp of what needs to be done. The second can listen to a short explanation over discord or listen to a video. The third can read a written explanation or strat.
The fourth type of learner though? They have to do it themselves to fully grasp the strategy. Kinesthetic learners will struggle with the current demands of m+ where there is no room for mistakes, and thats a real shame. These types of players are greatly benefitted by things like ptr test raids, practice arenas, etc. But for m+, there is really no such option - there are numerous mechanics that are so trivialized in m0 its easy to never even experience them at all, but come m+ those mechanics come at you hard.
These people arent lazy or inconsiderate. They just learn differently than you do. Sorry you’re so stuck on being hateful you can’t appreciate the differences.
It isn’t enough for anyone. Watching a lot of driving videos doesn’t teach you how to drive effectively. There’s a common mantra to denote what it takes to master a subject: See, do, teach.
That’s why you do m0’s, or even +2 or +3: To learn the dungeon. But by the time you get above +7, or +10, or +15, it’s not unreasonable to expect that you understand what’s needed.
I feel like a lot of people here throw the word “feedback” around without knowing what it really means.
Telling someone they’re bad at the game and should uninstall is not feedback. Insulting them in belligerent and derogative ways is not feedback. It’s unproductive, and it’s certainly not going to make the person on the receiving end get any better at the game.
Everyone is trying to complete content and progress in this game. You are not special just because you put more time and effort than someone else.
Also I just spent $800 on wow tokens, so wtb carry to Mythic Denathrius.
Real talk though, I’ve raided since BC. In that time it has always been the expectation that people know their class, know their role, and watched a 4 minute explanation video for the next progression boss so they have an idea of what to expect.
There is a big gap between coming prepared and being a tryhard. But raiding is endgame content and some extra effort is required.
I addressed this in my comment – many mechanics are so trivialized in m0 the bosses dont even live long enough for you to experience or notice them.
Ideally, I think something like a practice scenario with bots just to get players used to the mechanics of the boss fights and affixes on m+ (similar to the proven healer, proven tank stuff from expansions past) would probably be the best option for these types of learners.
Exactly what it comes down to. You are an elitist if you expect effort. You are an a-hole if you expect someone to hold their weight in demanding content.
