Go!
Fallout
Warcraft
Diablo
Shadowrun
Deus Ex
The Elder Scrolls
Knights of the Old Republic(Figured it needed distinction from just “Star Wars”)
Bioshock
Styx
…and the last isn’t really a franchise but Dwarf Fortress
List in the OP is pretty good. Some other franchises I like a lot that might be top ten for me-
Metal Gear Solid
Mass Effect
Kingdom Hearts
Super Mario
Bruh, I can’t believe such a cool franchise got shut down because one bad game came out. I never asked for this.
Keeping my fingers crossed we’ll get new ones now that Square sold off all their western developers.
With both Mankind Divided and Cyberpunk 77 doing poorly I’m a bit worried publishers are scared of going into that space.
Honestly, it would be prime time, in my opinion, to get another Shadowrun as it would scratch both the itch of lack of a Cyberpunk entry AND lack of new Mass Effect content (as I feel like the Shadowrun games were almost like “cyberpunk mass effect” in a sense).
Time will tell.
Mechwarrior, get rekt
I think that one recovered okay. The recent update fixed a lot of issues and I’ve sunk quite a few hours into it.
Yoshi P must have ridiculous back pain carrying an entire company on his shoulders constantly.
I like many franchises but I think the one I’m the most excited to see coming back is Mass Effect!
GTA
Crash bandicoot
FIFA
Need for Speed
League of Legends
Pokemon
Call of duty
Warcraft
Habbo
Dofus
In no particular order…
A few honorable mentions too but these are the first 10 that came to mind.
Without a doubt.
The game industry blows my mind sometimes. A franchise with hundreds of millions in revenue was just going to be shut down because their B-Team stumbled. It’s crazy. It’s absolutely insane to think that Mass Effect could have just ended. I really don’t get it.
Resident Evil is like all over the place, probably the franchise with the most radical redefinitions ever. It’s hard to even say “I’m a fan of Resident Evil” because the games are so different from one another. The name certainly has some level of pull but I haven’t played it since Resident Evil Revelations 2 so it doesn’t THAT much pull. Maybe one day they’ll have a true sequel to Resident Evil 4, I dunno.
I don’t play enough games to have a top 10 list. My list only consists of:
Andromeda got too much heat, imo. It wasn’t fantastic but it was still decent. The animations were janky and the story was iffy but my god, the combat was spectacular lol.
Mass effect should have ended with 3
