Actually now that I think about it:
We are well aware that most players hate it but we’re not about to change anything so suck it up
Can be applied virtually anytime Ion comments on something, so it was a bit redundant.

Two little points:
1.) It’s less that people are “just now” getting upset than it is hitting a fever pitch, because yes, it’s always been a thing in Warcraft, but now it is headlining an entire expansion, so if you already didn’t like it, it’s become infinitely harder to ignore in favor of other things.
2.) I think the Horde’s war campaign is actually interesting (with a few problems), but calling the Alliance version an “amazing piece of story” is… oof, I don’t know how to parse that. The characters are okay, I suppose. But you spend pretty much the whole thing trying to kill one guy who winds up betraying the Horde anyway, and then get to crow about how that’s a “huge victory for the Alliance.”
Wyrmbane: “Killing these four San’layn will surely strike fear into the very heart of the Horde!”
Horde players: “Wait, what San’alyn?”
Except that the story has become progressively less about choices and more about fear mongering. For the past couple of expansions, the Horde has typically received the blunt end of the stick in terms of story - it’s always the Horde that does X, it’s always the Horde that does Y.
The lens has become increasingly narrowed for the sake of BfA. The Alliance are continually portrayed as the “good guys,” whereas the Horde are branded as the “bad guys.” Despite Saurfang’s little blip of presence (which I like as anyone else does), it’s a little too late for the Horde as a whole. They’ve been shafted one too many times that they’ve become accustomed to be the mustache-twirling ne’er-do-wells.
That’s why people are are displeased. It’s rehashed storylines that, while interesting in theory, don’t pan out. It’s why everyone was EAGER to see that it wasn’t Sylvanas that torched Teldrassil, but here we are.
its been simmering for awhile but now its coming to a head. horde nerds dont like it cause they finally starting to put 2 n 2 together but lack the acumen to really say why, so they point to symptoms
alliance people dont like the story cause they know they can never get the payoff they want, the game itself doesnt let them. Good
then there is the good folk like the op, who i say again, notice something is up, but dont have the ability (not their fault at all) to really go at why
Great story telling is you knowing where its headed and keeps you engaged. The plot is good on paper, but horribly hamfisted in its execution that it loses its meaning at its conclusion.
quick response cause you posted when i did but
Duh, that’s the point of the story. Like the Main point. Do you have a problem with that?
A lot of people do, my friend.
So is that a yes?
Can we keep the straw men arguments to GD please.
echelon you have ruined my tempo now my melodramatic one line response will look awkward
thanks
Abscond from petulant thoughts. It’s unbecoming of you.
Those words almost mean what you seem to think they mean.
Almost.
10 Characters
Also Blizzard fired a few hundred employees just now.
uh oh that’s not good
Probably just more customer support people. The less active players you have the less you need customer support personel.
God knows they prefer having bots do customer service work anyway.
I’m sorry, I meant “do” “customer service” “work.”
Link to the story? If there is one. Curious what happened.
It’ll be official on Tuesday:

Because we’re sick of this being a reoccuring plot point where the Horde needs Yet Another Soul Searching when after WC3 we were all set to leave that mess behind us.
