Your Players Deserve a Longer Prepatch. Release it next Week

Im almost convinced that people who dont see the need to have belf/draenei 60 or close to it by the time tbc launches dont have friends they intend to play with who are already 60.

It doesnt matter if youre casual or hardcore, nobody wants to feel like theyre behind even if their personal playstyle will cause them to fall behind. everyone wants to step foot into outland with their friends, not still be questing in searing gorge.

And the fact of the matter is, an extra week would just let people have fun in prepatch instead of feeling the pressure to level to 60 asap and get into as many raids as possible to get some kind of gear they might not replace instantaneously and burn themselves out.

These threads are why Blizz should have just kept it the way it was back in the day and have Draenei and Belfs available when the Portal opens and TBC officially launches.

No matter what players would find a reason to complain whether they gave us a month or just a week.

the problem is prepatch has no reason not to drop next week. nobody realistically expects blizzard to push tbc release back, but its within expectations to be brought forward.

Good post. Mine is actually pretty simple. I would like 1 additional week with the prepatch skills in the Classic setting :). Seems like a good time to me lol.

The reason is to fix as many bugs as possible. The Beta still has issues.

Well then I am relieved to know the content is set to be released in an unfinished state. I was worried about that.

Blizzard said something and did the opposite?
Happens all the time, you must be new here.

It was an absolute shock to me that they decided to go with a 2 week pre-patch. That combined with the 58 boost cost makes it very obvious they did it for the money.

A number of people who may have leveled normal will now pay for the boost.

You’re right there’s no reason they can’t release it this week, but they won’t. Corporate has spoken. They’ll piss everyone off without blinking to make a buck then pretend they don’t want to make some minor changes because it will hurt the game.

Blizzard, few things you could do would hurt the game more than focusing on the money to the extent that you obviously are. It’s disgusting.

That literally makes no sense.

The only people who have not had nearly two years to level are ineligible for the boost.

I would buy the boost for my shaman if I could, and not because of the two week pre-patch, but because leveling SUCKS and I am done with doing it.

ok. they will release it next week.

This. 2 weeks is a slap in the face…

Lol well screw them. They will get their gear with the same amount of of gameplay or most likely less in pre patch. P6 grand marshal or hwl is a meme anyway

Heard of titles? Also blizzard is never gonna push pre-patch to be sooner, if anything it would be later

Two things to comment on here.

  1. ā€œSo you can play with your friendsā€ has been used to justify some horrible retail changes over the past few years, and big surprise, most of them have been a net negative to the game and even abused for the purpose of twinking and ganking (see: party sync)

  2. Yes, no company ever introduces a microtransaction and then doesn’t want you to buy it. This might seem obvious to most people, but you’d be surprised how often people will ignorantly pull the tired old ā€œtinfoil hat!ā€ card when the idea that the dev team is intentionally doing things to encourage paid boosting is brought up. It’s not a conspiracy, it’s proven and obvious business behavior.

I’m not trying to justify it lol. I just see blizzard for what they are and am no longer bothered by it. You can’t be surprised when you expect the worst.

No, the players don’t deserve it. What did they do to ā€œdeserveā€ anything?

It’s free. How can you deserve more than free?

Yes, it really is that difficult – for the same reason that pushing back the launch is difficult.

I was told I would be able to raise fishing to 300 before the expansion hit. On a blood elf. Now I’m angry and I’m here to demand answers.

Who told you that? And why can’t you do that? If you started four months ago, wouldn’t you be 300 by now?

Oh, sorry, I wasn’t meaning that as a rebuke toward you. It’s just that you raised those two points which I’d been meaning to comment on for a while and thought now was the time. Nothing against you.
