This goes for Holy Paladins as well. I was wondering how you guys go about keybindings when switching specs?
I use QERF for my attack moves(Palm Strike, Blackout Kick, etc) and use 1 as vivify as WW
I usually use QERF for healing spells as MW but then I place my Attack Moves in odd places.
As a Holy Paladin I tend to move my attacks onto my mouse button like roll up, down, etc. this tends to kinda mess with some of my muscle memory so I wondered how other people tend to go about spec switching and keybinds.
With any class I’m playing I keep some class abilities on the same keybinds. Some I don’t. Like vivfy is on 2 for MW but H for WW. I do this with any hybrid class and their “flash heal type ability”. On healers it’s usually the “I need to save myself” button. Idk why H, but it’s been that way since I started playing the game and it’s hard to break it lol. For dispels I also keep those on the same key for all classes, a macro button on my keyboard same with legsweep. I also have a corsair scimitar and pretty much all my utility skills are on there using the exact same keybinds across specs for the most part. But on WW I keep my CDs between like the first 3 keys while on MW the first 4 keys are my DPS abilities. I keep incap on 5 and CJL on 4.
As I said I generally try to keep abilities that tend to function the same in the same spots across classes. Makes it easier when swapping between them because I have a lot of alts lol.
My keybinds for all classes are set up like this:
E,F,C and R - spam moves or things that I will use very frequently, low CD (think tiger palm, black out strike, etc)
T and G - Longer CD abilities, but not your “main” cd (Wake of Ashes on ret pally, Fist of Fury, Ring of Peace)
Q is ALWAYS my interrupt. For classes that don’t have an interrupt, like most healers, I use this as an additional spammy key like E F C and R
3 and 4 - movement related abilities, support abilities, stuff that generally isn’t my specs main thing (like vivify on a WW monk)
I use a mouse with 3 buttons on the side, which I have bound to 7 8 and 9 - I usually put stuff that is a ground target ability on these, or slightly longer CD skills like T and G.
I have my keys set up this way so that I can reach nearly all my abilities with just my pointer finger (besides Q obviously). I try to keep all my abilities in the same spot, regardless of class. Charge on a warrior is the same button as divine steed on a paladin, Shift+R is always my main defensive CD, etc. This makes it a bit easier to play any given class, because no matter what I’m doing if things go wrong I know what button is prob going to save me. If you’re going MW, I’d put your main heals on QERF like you said, but if you’re going to do fistweaving then make sure your damaging abilities are in a very spammable spot.
