Your Graphic Card Driver is Out Of Date

… it’s First thing that popped up after waiting for the server to go online.

Would 9.1 have new special effects?

If it works ok I think you can just ignore it.

In these cases the game usually runs just fine.

This week the 9.1.0 patch went live and I got a large message in center screen saying my graphics card driver was out of date (Nvidia GTX 1080). I checked out: the Blizzard link posted in the middle of my screen on driver updates and was redirected to article 31372.

I checked out the list of supported drivers. My graphics card should be listed - but isn’t. Ran DxDiag like the article said. Went to the Nvidia site and then the OEM site & updated the driver. Updated mods. But there was no change in performance. This week I’m running 93 FPS outside covenant hall like I was before, although FPS is lower inside the hall. But 93 FPS feels choppy, more like 40 FPS. And there is still a yellow triangle at the feet of all my characters.

Now what? Toss the gaming laptop? I’m surprised that Blizzard is upping graphics card requirements at this time - graphics card prices are through the roof due to bitcoin miner demand and things are still far from 2019. Wasn’t the cost and impact on players considered?

Check to see if there is a drive update. I had the same, after I installed the update it went away.

The driver update was to fix flickering with some of the graphics cards.Goto the Nvidia website and update to the June 22 driver update that started with 471 if I remember correctly. If that doesn’t fix the yellow triangles at your feet maybe try disabling addons or updating any that can cause the problem.

On top of just trying to update, use something like Display Driver unistaller to COMPLETELY wipe out your drivers and clean up leftovers before installing new drivers if you have issues.

What Vanishh has happening sounds like either bad drivers, or worst case… a dying card.

They put special attention to it because there’s an Nvidia bug that frequently caused flickering. It actually lasted a few months before Nvidia stopped counting their crypto money and fixed it.

A few months? It was going on since nearly SL launch lol, just got fixed on the 22nd.

Wasn’t just wow either from what I hear.

Be careful updating your Nvidia drivers to the 471.11 update
Lots of people have been having major slowdown issues with them with all kinds of cards from 1000-3000 series.
Still ongoing as of yesterday when I checked.
Make sure you can rollback in case you’re impacted by the slowdown.

I have a piece of crap 1060 currently but still been running as smooth as crappy butter, so didn’t even know that was an issue.

This is what happened for me, it just went away. Keep in mind, I DID go and try to update in all the ways possible and suggested, and just kept being told ‘driver up to date.’ I simply got tired of it and ignored, and it still worked just fine [as well as vanished on it’s own].

Download the GeForce experience app from Nvidia. It’ll keep your drivers up to date with minimal manual intervention. Here’s a link:

Also, your card is supported according to this article:

Your card falls under “GeForce 10 Series.”
