Your game is BROKEN

As another frequent PUGer , who gets rolled by premades almost every time I stick my head in AND lose 99% of AV matches to boot.

When it stops being fun, stop doing it, do something else, if there is nothing left to do, find another game.

Almost 200 replies in less than 4 hours. I’ll give you a solid 4 out of 10

Even better than that, they should do matchmaking for stuff like twinks too. Basically give people a rating and match them with people of the same rating, as well as giving a team an overall rating.

These are very old concepts in tons of games, it’s not rocket surgery. Don’t match someone who loses nearly every game against someone who wins nearly every game. It’s a recipe for apathy and non-participation.

Or at least do like some games do and provide a balancing buff of some sort.

Go play retail, they have these features you desire

No, this doesn’t make sense. It’s supposed to be social with your own faction not the other faction. You aren’t supposed to care what the enemy thinks or how they feel.

On PVP servers you are supposed to be able to go gank any horde/alliance flagged or kill horde/alliance at your resources and not care what they think because no matter what all they can do back is either fight or run away. The only communication is through emotes (this is how it is supposed to work). On the flip side when you get ganked you are supposed to be able to make a group of others and fight back.

You are supposed to be able to destroy the enemy in BGs and farm them and take the objectives and not care what they think. You are supposed to be able to talk with your own faction and be able to make groups and play together.

I know we are all people playing the game and it sucks to play PUGs vs premades but that’s how the game is designed. What I described above is why I don’t see how any of what’s happening as a problem.

Anyone who doesn’t like the premades can either play Sunday/Monday when most rankers are done capping, play early mornings when most rankers are sleeping, or get their own premade together.

The game is not designed around pugs playing premades. Seriously, where do you guys come up with this stuff?

What you really mean is the game doesn’t take into account that there’s a portion of the players that are driven by fevered, fear based mania that lets them overlook the fact that other human beings are playing the game.

Lets not forget its original design wasn’t tailored around cross realm bgs - ultimately this is the problem with classic wow - its more retail than vanilla.

you didnt play in vanilla

That’s the funny part of the absurd discussions around people defending the honor system

It would be nice if there were separate queues for premades and solo.

Limit the number of people you can queue with. You’re telling me you have 9 or 14 friends you have to play with every bg? Shut up. It’s a simple fix. I “love” going up against a stacked premade with my team having 0 healers. There is no getting gud in that situation.

It was that way in 2004-2006. People wanted #nochanges.

Something, something, “you think you do, but you really don’t.”

Definitely agree on this one. Most of what made Vanilla was the players at that time. Just completely different attitudes about how to play the game. You can’t simply recreate the game with the players so different between then and now.

So if everyone queued as a premade that would fix the problem?

Imagine if literally everyone was in a premade. The best premades will win every game, mediocre premades will win half of the time, and the worst premades would lose pretty much every game.

The only reason bad premades don’t lose every game now is because they still win the ~20% of games that are pugs. But if there are no pugs, the worst premades would actually lose even more often than pugs do now.

I think most people actually want to play fairish games. The problem for the rankers is, you get better honor-per-hour curbstomping pugs than playing fair games, so they are forced to make games as unfair as possible in their favor.

But at the same time, the bigger the PvP pool the easier it is to rank. So on the one hand the premades want to face nothing but pugs and completely obliterate them, and on the other hand they need as many people playing as possible to maintain a large PvP pool.

I’m actually shocked pugs are still queuing BG’s. I haven’t queued for a BG in at least 3 months.

Everyone knew how pvp in vanilla worked, a petition was made for a vanilla server and we got it, why can’t people just appreciate the game for what it is?

man it would be nice to do bg’s every once in a while now that I hit my goal. cant even do that…

If only there was a way you guarentee that all the players on your team were on the same page and you had a good comp. It’s too bad there’s absolutely no way to do that in classic

The “gitting gud” in that situation would be coming prepared with your own group with healers.

Quite the pity party you got there.

Life must be difficult when you can’t manage to overcome a single difficult problem. Obviously it’s everyone else’s fault! :upside_down_face:

Imagine thinking that this game has nothing to do but PVP.

You donut.

The other thing to remember is that server pops were smaller – which means that fewer players could rank at a time; because the upper brackets couldn’t contain as many players.

We’ve definitely seen some semblance of deviation in player behavior, as it pertains to premades, as a result of classic’s server population caps being significantly larger than Vanilla’s were.
