The quest “Your Friend, Dactylis” is intended to be a follow up quest to “Humble Gatherer,” where you use the items from the first quest to craft the items for the second.
Currently, when you turn in “Humble Gatherer” and get “Your Friend, Dactylis,” you lose nearly half of the items you just gathered.
I went from 5 Soul Mirror Shards to 3, from 2 Depleted Goliath Cores to 1, and 6 Tampered Anima Chargers to 3.
This results in only being able to make 1 Overcharged Goliath Core. The quest calls for 2 of those, and a Soul Mirror (which crafts from 5 Soul Mirror Shards).
This is clearly a bug and not “intended behavior” as the first quest is literally called “Gathering” and the second is intended to be “crafting” not “Oh, go gather those things AGAIN and then come back and craft this.” It’s pretty obvious when playing that the flow of it is quest 1 (fetch materials) to quest 2 (use materials).
I haven’t seen anyone else really mention this in other bug write ups, hence this one. It seems most people do what I’m about to do and just go re-farm the mats after losing half the mats one just farmed from turning in the quest and getting the next one in series.
Please look at this Blizzard. It’s an easy fix, the quest “Your Friend, Dactylis” is simply not populating the player’s inventory with high enough quantities of the materials from the prior quest’s gathering. A simple edit to the number values will fix this very easily.
[There is nothing in either quest text that says “Oh, sorry I just accidentally destroyed/used up half of the materials you just brought, oops, better go get them again and then talk to Dactylis about crafting!”]
