Original 40 man ZG.
Kara, back when I started in 2009. Loved that place then, and still do now (the original that is, not the remake).
ZG
Around the time that BWL was current content, my guild needed an extra warm body for a Molten Core farm run.
The highlight of that run was Garr. We wiped a couple times because the locks couldn't organize their banishes right. But victory came when someone wandered too close to Garr's path while everyone else was busy eating. In the chaos of the inadvertent face pull, the adrenaline kicked in and we managed to pull off the kill.
I also walked away from that run with a shiny new pair of prophecy shoes. Was so happy.

Molten Core. The joys of being ripped apart by trash packs and people pulling imps into Lucifron.
My Aunt got my nine year old self into a guild MC raid on my fresh 60 frost mage. I managed to make it all the way through to Golemagg without dying before my naive self was told to step into the glowing fissure behind him afterwards. Myself, along with half a dozen noobs, were incinerated.
Ah, good times.
Ah, good times.
Technically it would have been Molten Core, but that would have been on my level 60 Paladin sometime in early 2010 -- I didn't have any expansions at the time.
Eventually I did end up with BC during WotLK and at that point I was organizing "RP Gear" runs since this was pre-xmog but RPers still cared about fashion. I'd always count my upgrade rolls as equal to their vanity rolls, since that was the whole reason they were there. They were kinda fun since most BC content still needed some semblance of a group and a few bosses actually still required knowing the mechanics and not facerolling it even with a group. As a result I had macros to explain fights so I wouldn't have to type it out every time.
One of the people in one of those runs ended up joining our actual for realsies raid group for a short time during, I think SoO, and he referred to me as his first "raid leader" because of those RP Gear runs. That was kinda neat, given it was ~3-4 years later and he still remembered that just from my characters name at the time.
-----------------------------------
My first "real" endgame raid was Blackwing Descent, as I had got Cata and WotLK at about the same time within a week or so of Cata's launch and raced through WotLK content and found myself in a raiding guild. IIRC I went back and forth with our shadow priest at the time for the top DPS spot, so that was nice. I was the most geared Ele Shaman on our server (at least Alliance side) during that tier. That was a 5 day a week raiding guild running loot council and everything though, so it burned me out pretty quick and I skipped Firelands until the very end.
I still see that guild around from time to time, they've changed the name since then and as far as I can tell went a lot more casual after Cata.

AQ20 I believe, it was a couple weeks after BC dropped and people tried to pug it thinking with the extra gear and leveling power it'd be cake walk. We wiped about 5 times on the first boss then disbanded.
Molten Core and back then I played a mage. I loved the fact that I had an actual role to play. When I first went in I was in awe of the Molten Giants and the size of the instance.
My first raid was naxx in wrath
Yeah, it really feels empty these days after they decreased the mob density quite a bit. Those bloody surgers were annoying. The place is massive though. If I go there now for transmogs or Dark Iron ore, I find myself grumbling "why can't I use my mount down here?"11/11/2018 04:27 PMPosted by AbragarWhen I first went in I was in awe of the Molten Giants and the size of the instance.
Zul'Gurub. It was back when interrupts were all on the GCD and the bat lady's heals were like 1s cast, so you had to idle waiting for her to try. Also we were mostly pugs, so use your imagination as to how things turned out. :P

LOL I hated the surgers and yea a mount would have been great!
As far as newb mistake in my first raid. When I was invited to the Molten Core the first time, I joined the raid, zoned in and realized I was fire spec. Got asked to leave for being a newb but did learn my lesson for the next time I was invited. lol
Kara in BC, healing on my resto druid while in pvp gear. We got completely destroyed by the trash and I don't even think we killed any bosses.
10 man scholomance. So epic, so long, so many deaths.

Not sure if you're serious or not, but Zul'Gurub was 20 man only. Though the original 20 man version in vanilla was one of my favorite raiding experiences.
My first raid was OG Molten Core. Played my hunter all through vanilla.
7 Hour Molten Core run, was a ton of fun!
11/11/2018 03:09 PMPosted by RaggnaroksWhat was the first raid you were ever a part of?
Mine was...LFR Dragon Soul lol. But it was the most epic thing I'd ever been a part of.
Share your memories newbz.
Level 58 and my guild needed someone to fill out the 10 man group for Zul'Gurub. it was a lot more epic than dungeons.
If world bosses don't count, and soloing old raids don't count...
...Emerald Nightmare.
...Emerald Nightmare.
Ulduar, a month or two before my first guild collapsed overnight after a catfish scenario involving the guild leader was revealed.
I can't remember if we got past Flame Leviathan or not, but if we did I'm pretty sure that's the only boss we downed.
