I absolutely love the talent Cataclysm
just wished it had a better visual.
You know more BOOM.

I vaguely remember Disney Channel playing Kiki’s Delivery Service when I was a kid so I remember watching that. Haven’t seen the rest of Ghibli’s movies.

I also haven’t seen Cowboy Bebop. But I respect it.

I have a few issues of Ramna 1/2 off in my collection somewhere.

Well, if you don’t want to count Speed Racer (the US version), or Star Blazers, both of which were afternoon tv growing up, then it’d be Fist of the Northstar. (edited).

Urusei Yatsura was my first obsessive anime though.

When I was a young teen (maybe 14 or so?) I looked through the little anime section of our local video store and saw one that just had a picture of a dark haired girl with a large bow in her hair on it, so I picked it up, and rented it.

Turned out to be ‘La Blue Girl’, so that was traumatizing.

And yes, the video clerk let me rent this, it wasn’t in the back with live action movies of a similar genre.

Other than that, Sailor Moon, near the same period in my life.

Cowboy Bebop, I think it was on Cartoon Network? Or was it Adult Swim?

I don’t remember.

Ah yes, back in the day, when the only real adult animation was considered HeavyMetal, Felix the Cat and depending on the city, Cool World. While animation from the Japan, obviously kids stuff.

At least not alone in being thrown into the dark, dark reaches of Anime on the first go lol.

Hmm, I am from Brazil and Dragon Ball Z was HUGEEE here in Latian America, but if you don’t count that, I guess it was Your Lie in April or whatever the hell the name was in Japanese, a friend wanted me to watch and I wasn’t disappointed, just kinda bittersweet.

Elfen Lied. really set the tone for my taste in anime.

Akira, and the collection of shorts Robot Carnival; in the early 90s.

My exposure went back to the mid to late 80s when I was a just a little child - Noozles, Little Koala, The Littl’ Bits, Voltron.

Pokemon. I have the entire first season stashed away somewhere and the first few films.

I remember a bit of Digimon but considering I had to actually buy the episodes I couldn’t see much of other anime’s early on.

I still listen to the music box version of the main theme, soooo good. <3 EL.

You know if you say Robotech, it implies the American version of Macross, right?

I used to watch this from a channel coming out of LA when I was a kid
all the way to New Mexico. Every day at 5pm. Loved it.

Voltron - 35 years ago

I still enjoy them today, though not like I did in HS/college.
