I’m curious to see how many people are planning to go back to the class they originally played in vanilla, or if you are going to switch, why?
Personally I played a rogue in vanilla and while I have very fond memories of leveling, raiding, and pvp with that character, I will be playing a Paladin in classic.
As a bit of a side note, has there been any information floating out there about server names? for those of us that played vanilla, it would certainly make the possibility of reconnecting with old guilds and possibly even people a reality if the same initial server list names are repeated.
So what did you first level to 60? and will you be playing the same class, or going a different route? Why?
This gal was my first 60, though she didn’t ding until shortly after TBC was released. I was in no hurry. (She has her original name, is on her original realm, still leader of the guild I created.)
While I probably will remake her somewhere just because, I probably won’t be playing her. My current plan is to level a Horde to 60, probably an Orc Warlock, so I can experience all the questing I missed originally. (On a separate Blizzard Launcher account I actually have an Orc Warlock with the terribad name of Ghouldan.)
IF the game can make me overcome my reservations, I’ll be playing a lot more characters beyond that, but still don’t think I’ll focus on this gal’s remake.
Gonna go out on a limb here: do you remember a warrior on perenolde by the name of Desiku? He’s a good IRL friend of mine and IIRC he was pretty involved in the perenolde warrior community. I can’t remember his guild for the life of me.
The very first character I created was this one, although my first 60 and Vanilla main was a Human Rogue due to RL friends insisting on playing Alliance (urg -.-). I got this warrior, along with a Troll Holy Priest, to 60 as well. Never raided with 'em though, shame.
Vanilla Wow info:
Character: Lexiss
Race/Class: Human Rogue
Server: Cenarion Circle
Guild: Dragon Templars --> Unwanted Prophecy
I think the warrior and priest (Maridzah) were in the Far Travellers guild, which was a big RP community Horde side.
My very first character was an Undead Priest (Fall of 2005). I leveled him all the way to 58 before caving in and making a Human Mage (this character) to play Alliance with my best friend. Took about 7 or 8 months to ding 60 (December 2006), as lots of my time went to managing the guild and organizing/recruiting. Can’t say I regret the choice to switch to Alliance, though I plan on playing Horde for Classic. I’m torn between trying a new class, or going with one I’m already familiar with.
Vanilla WoW Info:
Character: Digweed
Race/Class: Human Mage
Server: Cenarion Circle
Guild: Touch of God / Wrath of God
<-First character, 60, 70, 80, and 85 (and every other level in those ranges), back burnered for my monk primarily because I found priest healing playstyle to suck at that point and beyond while the MoP mistweaver was quite possibly the most enjoyable healing class I ever played in any game.
If I play classic (still under consideration depending on some decisions Blizz still needs to make) I will undoubtedly main another human priest. The change would be my alt line-up and how quickly I progress them (I’ll spin up a warlock much, much sooner than I originally did).
