What are your favorite WPvP moments?
I was in TB during the event where you have to visit a specific point in each of the other faction’s main cities in Wrath. I saw a lot of people take the path up the elevator and across the bridge and decided I’d play black knight. I sat on the other side of the bridge and fought everyone that tried to cross. I killed a lot of people, even died once when a shaman snuck behind me and waved me off the cliff.
I killed one guy and he decided to use the other bridge to cross. He was trying to sneak but I saw him so I /wave’d at him and let him go. A couple more tried the other bridge and I /wave’d at them as well. Then a whole bunch of people were crossing the other bridge and a lot of them were /wave’ing at me.

Once, when I was attacking Boralus, an Alliance Paladin tried to bubble hearth.
He…succeeded in hearthing.
Take a guess as to where his hearth was set.

lol, whoops. Guess he should have used his Dalaran port to clear his PvP flag.

Was killing a fellow Druid on timeless isle, he used his one with nature to escape, I used mine right after and landed in the same spot, and I killed him anyway.
He was sooooooooo mad.

Sort of reminds me of how if you flew over Wintergrasp during a battle it’d drop you from a height in the same spot as everyone else. Please forgive the fuzzy memory, it’s been a while if the trigger is off. This one time it dropped me and an alliance player together, he attacked right away and was winning but another horde player dropped in and helped me kill him. Right after, another alliance player dropped in but we decided to let them go and both ported out.

I would have to say one of my favorite wpvp stories would be from BC as I was still green to the game and server rivalries were still a big thing.
I remember talking smack on the server forum to one of my rival’s named Tamahone and he challenged me to a duel outside of Shat, so I waited and he showed up in steath and started lighting me up. As I was still newer I had a premature bubble ( still embarrassing
) it was a good fight but in the end I lost.
He took a screen shot and posted on the forums with a “gotcha :p” I laughed and replied “next time will be different. :)”

Would have to be the many times I’ve won 1vX’s around the world. With the secret WPvP arsenal I’ve built up I think the most I’ve beaten successfully was a 1v6 (not fully geared ofc) in Grom’gol recently. It’s really funny when I get jumped by 2-3 semi-geared noobs and they think they have the advantage.
It really provides a good RPG progression feel that was kind of lost with the abomination that is PvP scaling. A fully geared and proficient PvPer may have been able to beat 5 undergeared noobs alone with no external tricks in MoP or WoD, but not anymore due to pruning and scaling. Winning those big 1vXs albeit not with hunter abilities brings back that feeling of godliness you would get in old times. Also, feels really good to flip the switch on overtuned destros/DHs/rogues. They may be obnoxious in arena, but nothing beats the WPvP tricks.
Honorable mention would be chilling with Alphon and Warllyz and crew or 2vXing with Maladath.

I do miss resilience, nothing like 2-shotting someone that attacked me. They’d usually hit in Hellfire due to the towers. When someone was hitting lowbies I’d hunt them either on my DK or lock, depending on their class. DKs were such great rogue killers, for example, but in a no fly area I’d stick to Raist and consume shadows; it confused them while killing them in stealth.
I figured you had to do more than kill them, you had to decimate them to chase them off. I would try to predict their targets and would stick high and keep my back to the sun so they didn’t see me coming. When they hit the players I was watching I’d dive bomb either behind or on top of them, casting once low to dismount and engage. They wouldn’t even know they were being attacked until it was too late, often dying before they could counter. They’d be afraid to even res, thinking I was good at PvP when I was only a good hunter.
The first time I went to kill someone and ended up in a different shard was the last time I played protector in Hellfire. Sure, there were times I’d find myself in Thrall during an attack and would hunt those guys but without protecting the server it just seemed empty to me.

Back around March/April my Druid stayed on pace gearing wise for the current content. I was in Uldum doing dailies and I got jumped by a DK, Arms Warrior and MM Hunter. I killed all three and since they emote spammed me in the beginning I was going to try and camp them. Between net-o-matic and their consistent rezzing I was able to obtain 17/25 CTA kills just from them. One of them finally logged over to an alt and told me to “chill out”.
MOP Daily Questing Area with the cliffs (and goats). Hunter + Camo + Freezing Trap + Explosive Trap = Hours of window licking fun.

Yeah, I had someone log over to apologize to me once, I was in Hellfire and he was attacking but had mounted up. I dragged him in on my DK and almost killed him before he flew away.
I remember IoT on my hunter. I needed the PvP wins for the cloak and I didn’t want to go in with PvE gear. This one guy was trying to sneak up on me so I camoed and started hunting him but he saw me go predator and ran off. Before that I didn’t do so well without any PvP gear but people were all one and done on the kills.
Your name just reminded me of Dragonlance. Those were some great books.

I tried to name my horde characters after anti heroes in fantasy books that I’ve read but quickly ran out of names. The first character I made was Elric but Raist was the first one I leveled.
Should check out Raymond E Feist, he has had characters that were a bit more antihero. Hell there was one book the main villian of the story became the main character of the very next book.

From this expansion specifically, there has been, every other week, pretty much non-stop wpvp action between Newhome and Mezzamere for the CTA Nazjatar event.
It is mostly small and mid scale (20ish on each side) but once the battle starts it can get kinda out of hand.
My guild has some hardcore wpvp’ers that spend hours and hours out there collecting bounties and hunting Horde bounties.
Its always fun to see other hardcore players you recognize from other servers on both sides out there joining in the fray.

My favorite personal wpvp story happened in Legion. I have max level toons in both factions and of course they’re all guilded. So I was leveling a Horde alt through Highmountain and got ganked by a hunter from my guild on Alliance side. No biggie, ganks are normal. I rez and he drops from the sky and kills me again. Then again. Now he was a member of the guild my Alliance max level toons were in and they’re a wpvp focused guild who have strict rules against camping and being annoying. Ganking is fine, but members are supposed to move on and not camp people.
So I log onto my main, Horde warrior, and start looking for the hunter. Don’t see him. Then I hop onto my alliance toon in his guild and check the roster. He’s still in Highmountain. But in G chat he is asking for help. He started camping another low level player and they logged onto their gladiator main and are now camping him. I tell him that i’ll log onto a better geared toon and come rescue him.
I log back onto my Horde warrior, find the guy who is camping him and tell him that he can go back to leveling his alt. I ended up camping the guy for about half an hour while he think’s i’m coming to help him.

Oh god.
Back in BC. I used to play a hunter, and I was -bad-. Like, really bad. I firmly believed that I should look pretty, so I wore cloth robes and didn’t give a damn about stats.
Oddly enough, I was actually quite good at getting out of tight spots. I was the master of disengage, feign death, speed pot boosts, etc. Super slippery.
When I was recruited into a WPvP guild, I was given the nickname ‘lulz bait’ and I had one job:
Run into Orgrimmar and run out dragging Horde players behind me…
And into the maw of my waiting guild.
Best story relating to that: One time I triggered an attack by our rival WPvP guild and managed to kite them all the way to Razor Hill. They were slow and cautious about it, too - they knew if I was involved, it was probably a trap.
It was. My guild was waiting and had set up a WALL of smoke flares so it devolved into complete chaos.
It was the best fight ever, and even the Horde guild agreed.
Those were FUN times. <3
