Your favorite part of WoW?

Alright friendos! Servers are down and I am losing my m-I mean I had a discussion topic idea-thingy!

What is your absolute favorite part of World of Warcraft? I don’t mean a zone, an expansion, etc. I just mean in general!

For me, its Professions. I didn’t get to level cap until the end of WotLK because I spent so much time hopping between zones, just leveling professions and then being all “oooo this profession can do THIS? Let me just reset and go try that out…” Even now, that’s basically all I work on in retail, and it is making my classic leveling very slow-going lol. I’ve already switched professions in classic on ONE CHARACTER 4 times.

I just love something about working to get all your shiny little mats and then seeing what you can make with them! My only complaint is how they changed them in Legion, and now BfA. I don’t want to run raids just to get items for my professions. I also miss when you had to actually level up each different expansion to get to the next one’s professions, but I’m sure I’m probably alone in that lol.

So! What about you guys?

Hm, man this is a bit of a tough one. I mean, the entire world is my favorite part of Warcraft. I’m not much of a pro-gamer or pro-MMO’er so I may have some opinions that vary from the masses, however, I find that wandering through certain zones and allowing my imagination to run wild is sometimes the most enjoyable moments for me ingame, sometimes solo, sometimes with some ingame friends. The possibilities are just so vast!

I absolutely love the medieval ages and for me, I absolutely enjoy playing the role of a typical ‘paladin’ a white-knight figure here to save the day and rescue the pretty gal from the ugly orc or whatever. But again, I’m probably a bit of a lonewolf with the style of play I do. For the most part - I roleplay Alliance in Capitol Cities and I engadge in PvP every chance I get (however I am awful).

Also, riding through Elwynn Forest on horseback is pretty awesome!

I really like exploring and fishing. I liked the introduction of treasures you could find in WoD and I spent a great deal of time in WoD and Legion on my rogue sneaking about looking for chests. The grey items with the flavor text were pretty rewarding in that they offered a little bit of world building and depth that has been lacking in recent times.

I can completely agree with that! I play Horde now but I still love revisiting Alliance zones on my alts just to experience the sheer beauty and atmospheric serenity of them!

That’s actually one of my favorites too! I have ALWAYS had a leap of excitement when I saw a treasure chest out in the world, even if it is many levels below me! That’s one of the things I am really enjoying about Classic, finding all the treasure chests and getting SO EXCITED about them!

Yes! Leveling in classic I saw one in the back of a spider infested cave and fought my way to it almost dying and upon opening it up I was like SWEET I GOT JERKY

WORTH IT.

Every time I see a chest, I’m like a dog who saw a squirrel. Nothing else matters, I jump and scream “TREASURE” in my head (and sometimes in party chat) and beeline for it…which frequently ends in my character’s demise.

Endgame PvE has always been my biggest draw. When Legion introduced the keystones dungeons, I was in love and really didn’t mind running them over and over again as a tank for when I was in a mythic progression group.

Due to not having a dedicated group for raids, I’ve found myself doing keystones much more often and they’re still a ton of fun to me. Though I won’t lie, I’ve started to feel burn out on them since having to rely on PuGs is always a toss up.
