On WoW? Probably the quote ā€œTime is money, friend.ā€ Other than that, my favorite version of goblins were the insane ones from the RTS games. These WoW ones are less insane and far more greedy.

I did recently play the Goblin starting zone because I never did, it was kind of a fun experience. I liked how everyone was still concerned with partying and money even as Deathwing was trying to genocide them all with fire.

The starting area for goblins. Love it so much I ran through it three times, one as a female goblin, one as a male goblin (just to see what the different vibes were). I want that car, I really do…

Starting experience is peak goblin, absolutely fantastic.

I’d love to see a Goblin patch island some day with this same sort of wacky vibe. Sort of like a Mechagon compared to a Nazjatar on the same patch. Could be a good fit in a Dragon Isles expansion since Goblins have many ties to dragons (Deathwing and Black Dragonflight).

It is. Really helps get into a character mind-set, which is one of the big appeals to me as a player. Before that, I was ā€˜meh’ on goblins. After that starting area, I was ā€˜go goblin’!

Wish there was more play like that for all races and the game in general.

Now that would be cool, if there were ā€˜race quests’ like the class quests in legion. But I suspect that the overhead for such design would be prohibitive…

Definitely agree with the people saying the starting zone.

I recently made a Hunter and took him through the starting zone and Azshara. He’s currently leveling in Nazmir with more gob squad action.

The goblin starting area was a hoot. I also enjoy the goblin area with the roller coaster track.

A long time ago there was goblin npc in Booty Bay that offered a quest to kill dream whelps for dream dust in Swamp of Sorrows. Well there were only a few spawns with a slow spawn rate and the drop rate for dream dust was trash. I spent a good hour or so on that quest, it was nightmare. Everyone that came into that zone was an enemy, factions did not matter, all that mattered was getting that sweet dust.

I now have my dream dust and I head back to Booty Bay to turn in. Once the he gets them, he sniffs them up. All that time and hard work gone in a flash up his goblin nose. As he staggers around the room I remember thinking ā€œThis is what we do now Blizzard?ā€ So whenever I think of Goblins this is it.

Waaaaaay back in Cataclysm I was doing random BGs on my goblin warlock alt, grinding for a PvP chestpiece for transmog. I queued into an AV that was on the verge of ending - everything on the map on both sides had already been burned but the last two towers/bunkers in the respective fortresses, but my timers were showing that the Frostwolf Keep towers would burn first. I was the only Horde left on the southern half of the map, everyone else was in the dwarf fort up top, nowhere near being able to do something about it.

With nothing else for it, I mounted up, and rode into Frostwolf Keep. Fortunately, all of the Alliance were parked outside Drek’thar’s door, so I met no one on my way inside. I slipped right into the first tower and was halfway up by the time a few peeled off from the main group to come after me. I made it to the top, capped the flag, and ran out. Unit health bars showed that the Alliance were halfway up the tower after me. I ran to the edge of the tower’s top floor, as close to the other tower as I could get, jumped off, and hit Rocket Jump.

I landed on the middle floor of the other tower, made it to the top, and capped the other tower while the Alliance were still figuring out where I’d gone. Then I mounted up, booked it out of there, and made it out while my pursuers were assaulting the towers again. Both towers were assaulted as soon as I was gone, but the damage had been done - the bunkers up north burned first, and the Horde won on reinforcements.

I single-handedly won AV thanks to Rocket Jump.

Never creating one. Does that count?

Going into stealth as a goblin for the first time, and noticing the cartoonish tiptoeing animation. It was fantastic.

I can give you my least favorite.

Back in MoP I farmed Krol the Blade a lot for those delicious exp potions. And there was a Horde goblin who I constantly saw. She was a fire mage and always riding the black onyx panther.

We hated each other. Absolute ruthlessness, she attacked me the split second she saw me and she was there almost as often as I was. I didn’t farm it all the time, only when I was trying to level someone, but whenever I did go there at any time there was a chance that goblin would show up~

Sometimes I wonder if she’s still there. Still waiting for that monk to come back to Pyroblast her face.

If you don’t, your last thoughts on your deathbed will be wondering how different your life could have been if you had made one.

We only have one life. Do you really want to end yours with such a daunting regret?

I quite like the goblin model design, animations, and voice samples plus the goblin cultural inspirations.

However, I really, really don’t like the goblin starting scenario—unlike everyone else it seems. I like what it tries to be, but I absolutely don’t like the flow of the whole thing. It’s by far my least favorite starting area. I did Lost Isles once during the Cata beta, once when it went live (with a male rogue), and then again when I created this character before the heritage armor came out. And…I don’t plan on doing it again. I just hate it. :woman_shrugging:

Out of curiosity, what about it made you not like it? Just interested in getting a different perspective.

I just find it un-fun.

Okay, I just wondered what was un-fun. I’d ask what you find fun, but I’m not an analyst or designing this game.

Thank you for answering though!

I know sometimes it can REALLY drag out if you aren’t able to stay immersed.

I personally dream of Warcraft Goblins every night and if I had the money would build my own Kezan.

Maybe I should start a gofundme?
