You know, I’ve walked down lots streets and never been mugged. Must be the mugged peoples fault if they do. Not the people breaking the law, couldn’t be their fault.

WoW has a massive following, and it’s completely online. You overwhelm the servers, no one can log in. They enjoy causing chaos. Depending on how big the spike it and who they use for their DDoS services (Akamai for example). The people doing this DO THIS to trigger people like you. This is the objective.

You do realize DDOS attacks are impossible to prevent? You can have multiple mitigations and defenses set up but you can’t prevent them from happening especially when it comes to live service games.

Those other games aren’t as big of a target as this one is, because these types get their hacker credit for DDOSing the World of Warcraft.
